Shin Megami Tensei IV *SPOILERS ABOUND*

Neither Yuriko nor the Archangels make a particularly convincing argument. I think SJ's Law and Chaos representatives sold it better, personally.

It's especially silly how Gabriel decides to let you go Walters route because she believes you come groveling back to God once you realize how weak you are.

I suppose that's what happens when a robot tries to understand people.

Thinking about it, the IV Law and Chaos options seem pretty tailored to Walter and Jonathan themselves, while in SJ they have qualities that could appeal to many people.

I think it goes too far to be honest, with them being swallowed up by their respective alignment as a result.

I think the case can be made that, at least in IV, Chaos is the worst of the endings apart from the Bad Ending. At least Mikado is happy in Law. Given the fact that many in Tokyo don't like the Ring of Gaea, you can sort of say both cities get screwed in Chaos...

To be honest I view Law and Chaos as equally bad, in part because the game didn't really get me attached to Mikado and its people besides K, who I've pointed out before takes the Chaos ending rather well.

That's a little surprising to hear. I always got the feeling that the series makes Law look the worst.

I would actually say that the Law ending is just as bad as the Chaos ending. Sure, Mikado is happy for the moment, but there's that little bit about how you had to commit genocide just because some racist angel believed that their being constantly hounded by demons meant that they were filthy and unfit for survival. With all the innocents dead because of Merkabah's zealotry, I would hardly call the Law ending better than Chaos.

And part of the reason the world's like that in the first place is because they tried to nuke everything in the past and unleashed the demons from the Yamato Reactor with God's Scheme.

Well in Chaos both sides get hit with an influx of super powerful demons, and we saw how that worked out in Tokyo, where they're used to demon attacks. So many npcs dead. Mikado is even less prepared. So it's a choice between most people dead in two locations or everyone dead in one and everyone living in blissful ignorance in the other. Of course, Mikado hardly gets away unscathed, what with all the slaughter required to get Mikado totally demon free.

You know I kinda suspect the reason they let Walter go open the gate so that they can justify destroying Tokyo, because this seems like something they would know can happen since Lilith is a jerk.

I suppose the lesson we all learn from this is that, at least in SMTIV, Neutral is the way to go since its patron is not a Jerkass.

Okay so some anons translated the pieces of dialogue. The other six party members that weren't Toki since she's The Mole believe Nanashi betrayed them because Dagda reveals himself to be a part of the Polytheism Alliance.

The Time Traveling Quest Giver Saint Germain is finally making a physical appearance in Final.

Adrammelech indeed works for Lucifer, which explains his lack of a mask associated with the new Polytheistic designs that aren't Krishna or IV's Guest designs.

He kills Nikkari and Manabu using Agi+6. Nanashi only lasted a little longer than them. Nanashi is sent to Yomotsu Hirasaka and not River Styx where he meets Dagda and becomes the God Slayer. Dagda gives him is first demon Centaur.

I hope we get official art for Saint Germain...unless he's in the same position as Nozomi in Shin Megami Tensei IV (character with unique sprite but no character portrait). I wonder what race he would be classified as.

Speaking of classes, the information I want to know most right now is this: are the Fiends in this game, and if they are, do they still have that 1/256 encounter rate?

They've been pretty good about addressing complaints from 4 so I'd imagine the encounter rate has gone kablooey.

That's not possible to answer right now. Don't forget they don't show up till after alignment lock in the previous game, with the exception of David.

I hope that Chemtrail and Plasma are still in. I'm curious to see Doi's take on those two. Hopefully he'll redesign Plasma a bit so that it isn't just a palette swap of Chemtrail with some electricity surrounding it.

There's no way they aren't. While the guide for the game just contains 398 allies with 383 demons, it's pretty much going to have the additional sixty demons in it.

The question is how will they be in the game. I hope that if they are pushing DLC it's ones who aren't truly important or that they release bundles at a time for people to download for free like in Record Breaker.

We do know EXP/Money/App farming DLC are in.

I just hope they make finding and fighting the Fiends a sidequest instead of a bullshit random encounter thing.
