it's a dhame that the song that might play when you fight sans is never used anywhere. it's really good (as is the rest of the sound track) and sounds pretty climactic.
what's interesting is that it's placement in the OST Album implies that he would've been fought at the end of the game shortly before Asgore in all routes (or some of them) rather than just the Genocide Run. (though i do prefer the situation as it is now)

I feel the Sans fight track was only intended to be a joke, for those who looked through the OST before playing the game.

Sans might have been intended to be fought in the neutral and pacifist routes but Toby probably scrapped it because Sans doesn't really have much reason to fight you in either route.
It would also take away from his character a bit, since he only fights you in Genocide because he has no other choice. It makes him seem less like that lazy guy being pushed to his limits if he just fights you for kicks on the other routes.

I could see the song being used in Snowden with a setup that goes something like Papyrus ordering Sans to help apprehend the human and the battle starts with Sans starting with the beginning of his Genocide opening monologue and the song plays.... only for Sans to doze off immediately after.
This song needs more love.

Watching a friend's lp of the game, going in spoiled on everything through sheer internet exposure, the disgusting amount of hype this game regularly gets, I was happy to find I legitimately like the game's story and characters. It helps that there's a lot of ambiguity and minimalism about the story, which is something I really appreciate. I find similar to Eva the line between what fans think they know and what the story presents is pretty wide, so I don't feel like I'm being forced to accept fan theories as canon since I'm welcome to draw my own conclusions.
