So, do we need to state what our requests have been used for in the thread itself, after posting?
Can diplomatic communication take place multiple times within a turn {i.e., can people negotiate deals etc. between updates)? Seems the best way to put leaders to use.
Avatar SourceAlso I'm wondering if we get a set number of requests per turn? I'd like to know how much I can try to do during a given turn, etc.
Avatar from: http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/5953.html N: 5 F, 0/40 SAlright, awesome!
I apologise if my posts will seem overly prose-y and/or leader focused; I'm still in a "regular" roleplay state of mind, and that is hard to break. Hell, I'm probably spending more time than is healthy just trying to figure out my character, what he acts/looks like, and so on*.
And just to make sure - diplomacy is done "straight up" in our posts proper, whereas research and all that is done "behind the scenes" in PMs to the GMs, right?
Locking you up on radar since '09Diplomacy is done in the thread and does not require turns. Turns are needed for wars and research, and that's done behind closed doors via PM to either me or Stratofarius
Hmm...
Still putting stuff like that into my posts, as a record of what I've done and because otherwise I'm going to be really bored.
Avatar SourceHm... to prevent my inbox ballooning, I might keep a record of what I asked for (and its' results) in a Notepad document. Lord knows my inbox is big enough already!
Unless the information is kept in the Turn update post, that is.
Also finally decided on what my leader will look like, although I don't have a name (or even an established personality, as much as that matters) for him yet.
Locking you up on radar since '09& Check the signup thread, Paulie and I are going to switch some of the mechanics.
Cool, Stratofarius has a new system for posting turns and requests, you can do it in the main thread and the GM will roll the numbers and post the results in the thread.
The exception to this is war plans against other nations.
Thanks for the heads up.
Locking you up on radar since '09Oh? Right:
Economic Reform, Economic Reform, Economic Reform.
50-success: protection rackets doing well
84-major success: wooo, banking!
80-major success: gambling (in this case, pachinko—hilariously, this is about the time it began to take off after being shut down for the war)
So yeah, going for economics right now.
Avatar SourceLike that, but on the actual RP thread.
Also, I think the G Ms do the numbers and put them out on the first post of a new turn.
Or not.

... why put it all on the main thread? It seems more logical to keep the OOC numbers to the discussion. :/
And putting everything in one post... oh god, the bloat. XD

Avatar SourceTrue, Raineh makes an excellent point

Cohesiveness?
I'd say cohesiveness, yeah. I'd rather not have to leapfrog between two different threads, one ostensibly for the game proper and the other for OOC discussion, just to get the full picture of a situation.
Locking you up on radar since '09OOC stuff goes in the OOC thread.
IC fluff goes in the IC thread.
Numbers and the exact requests are OOC stuff.
Letting people take their turns one at a time won't cause any harm if the resolution of conflicts waits until they've both concluded their turns.
It's hardly going to kill you to read the discussion, either. >.<
In short, my position is: keep the IC thread for the IC stuff, the exact numerical basis for stuff is OOC and should be in the discussion. Maybe link to it? -Shrugs-
Anyway, I'm going to sleep now.

Avatar SourceI dunno, I liked putting it in the IC thread. Then again, I'm the kind of guy who gets irked because his desktop has too many items or too many shortcuts without icons.
Was that a good post for England?
Okay, so turns out I got distracted elsewhere.
... where did you get the numbers in that post from? Infrastructure reform somehow only has one, when it should have two... um, what?
-Has no icons on my desktop. Uses the start menu for everything, since everything's neatly arranged there.-
Avatar SourceRandom.org
I thought that Infrastructure Reform only needs one number, but uses 2 requests? Since you can only have three and all that.
I think the GM's are meant to do that, though?
You can't have 25 requests in a turn, which is what sci-fi stuff requires. You pretty much have to pool requests over time.
Avatar SourceYeah, but I don't need to pool resources for Infrastructure Reform. It's a 2-request move.
I'll remove the numbers, then.
Which means it requires two successful requests. I think that's how it's meant to work—not an all-or-nothing type thing.
Avatar SourceSo it's a random number between 1 and 200?
