Best Recap Episode Ever, for one thing.
That I'll admit was actually pretty amazing, they should do that more often.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I humbly apologize for the lapidary statement before. Casschern did feel like a horrible waste of my time, not to mention, horribly deathist. Vagabond is similarly torture on the beat, but it has the merit of some non-trivial philosophy.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Nunca cambies, hermano.
So I take it, you like Casschern Sin?

He's saying it wastes your time for a premise that's pretty doomed from the start.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Eh, he's just being shy.
Hey, I think I figured out why Kamui are so skimpy, symbolically speaking.
Basically it is a representation of the union between clothing and human. Everyone else is either completely enveloped (the COVERS) or completely naked (the humans) but Kamui wearers strike a balance, appearing naked whilst actually almost completely covered from head to foot. Thus they manage to represent both factions simultaneously.
No, black yak about sums it up. Also, I was promised beautiful flowing battles, but all I got was a huge load of still poses. Even Bleach had less of that!
Well said.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Come on guys, I was joking.
@Elf: Very true. There's also Mako's 'get naked' combined with Satsuki's complete self-possession - accepting the Kamui as part of your body and an extension of yourself means that you're not wearing anything over 'yourself', therefore 'naked' while covered. There's also the same paradox of adopting clothing while rejecting the 'original sin' of clothing, which might very well be a metaphor for the directed evolution of humanity.
It's been fun.So I guess the message of the series is to accept clothing as an extension of yourself; not something that needs to be subjugated and used(Satsuki) or feel clothes are superior than humans(Ragyo).
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well, putting it that way runs the risk of Space Whale Aesop...
It's been fun.How about this as a more applicable message in regards to reality: Clothing is not to be seen as a shield for your shame against the rest of the world, nor used as a visual tool to mark out and enact subjugation or repression against distinct groups of people, but rather, clothing (and by extension, most of mankind's civilization and customs whose main function is not basic survival mechanisms) should be regarded as a common and diverse symbol of humanity's rise to sapience and hard-won privilege to reshape and define nature and the world around us according to our higher complex ideology.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Yeah, that's a really cool interpretation.
@The Handle: Well, death being necessary to give life meaning is a common theme in Existentialist works. Do you feel Casshern Sins in particular portrayed Sour Grapes about Immortality?
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.. Also you make the show sound like...a high-end commentary on different world cultures, customs, and ideological view points.
...You know, if people made undergraduate term papers about this series, I'd be...well, I'm not sure if it's pleasant surprise or total disbelief, but I'd certainly be shocked.
A pie bus falls into a multiversal convergence point. Hilarity ensues. Thanks you guys, it really means a lot that you're all so impressed by my little analysis. I took Advanced Placement American and British Literature and I'm planning to get an English degree, so this kind of thing comes naturally to me. It helps that KLK is so... loud about its messages of identity, self-acceptance and expression, dominance, and group conformity. A little bit of Christian teachings about stewardship over the Earth crept in at the end when I recalled all the A&E references from Ragyo. But yeah, if there is one thing that Kill La Kill is really good at, it's playing around with the concept of how much people judge themselves and each other based on how they dress themselves, along with how well someone and their attire fits the mold of whatever image or role said outfit is meant to advertise.

Aww, you're welcome, Handle! -hugs-
Not really, it still seems to be in control levels.
...Okay, maybe now it's◊ gotten a bit out of hand.◊
A pie bus falls into a multiversal convergence point. Hilarity ensues.I don't get it.
The first one reminded me of Freezing though.
EDIT: No pun intended.

Give the God Eater game thread some love! It's all based on Frozen.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.O.O When will the madness stop!
What happened is pretty much the Episode 18 reveal led to comparisons and eventual inevitable crossovers with Frozen's sister duo.
Also Scherzo you linked to the wrong Frozen.

It's going just fast enough to reach the end!
Yeah, pace hasn't really been a problem so far.
