No, it would not be all right, in my opinion. Redirects exist to make finding tropes easier, and both "a day in the limelight" and "a day in the spotlight" are commonly used phrases outside this wiki to indicate the trope. The redirect allows a reader to search for either term and find the page they are looking for.
One instance of misuse/confusion is not enough to justify cutting a redirect.

Nocturna put it well and succinctly. There is no reason to cut the redirect.

I just noticed that A Day in the Spotlight is a redirect for A Day in the Limelight, yet I just found a trope page where both tropes were listed. After realizing they're the same, I merged them. Would it be alright if we just cutlist A Day in the Spotlight to avoid any further confusion? I don't see any reason why it should exist.
