Well... yeah. At present, Star Wars games aren't really coming out. I'd rather get something than nothing.
Do I think its the best thing for the franchise? No.
Its not the worst thing either. Its not like its being deep-sixed. Quite the opposite.
Actually, given EA's... creativity, this is probably the best chance some of the EU has.

I can't wait for KOTOR 3 by Mac "The Hack" Walters and Hepler.
So does this mean that every Star Wars game will now have two different endings, a Light and Dark Side ending, but the only difference is that someone applied a white/black filter over the same cinematic and thus every choice you make in the game counts for shit?
