One thing i noticed today while watching The Imperial Japanese Empire, a film from Toei on World War II, is that director Toshio Masuda seemed to have incorporated a slight exploitation angle into the movie, including a lot of bloody violence and quite a few sex scenes and nudity into the movie.

My question to people here is, how do you feel about elements from trash cinema being incorporated into mainstream film as grindhouse is pretty much being edged out?

The mainstream audience is becoming more liberal/progressive nowadays, so of course grindhouse elements will make their way in.

The mainstream has always get back the little river. As soon as there is something which works on little movies, on independant, special or marginal form, the big one eat them and digest them to put in their film... That's the point for Tarantino and Rodriguez, but also for others director or writer...

In music, Philip Glass has influenced all the new OST during the last ten year, on my mind...

Between redigestion and hommage, there is some difference, of course...
