The rapid clicking of keystrokes filled the otherwise dank, dark room. Flashing lights from various monitors flashed haphazardly around, showing the canisters that hung from the walls. The monitors showed, in rapid succession, people who happened to live in the vicinity. People of interest, reploids of strength and power, stating their names, their jobs, current locations.

The hunched figure never stopped his typing, even as the side of his head began to sputter and smoke a little bit.

A door on the other side of the room opened, and a figure of greater form and size walked in.

"Are we ready?"

"There are a few-few-few-few-few issues that we should consider before putting the plan into mo-mo-mo-mo-mo-mo-" The hunched figure's hand suddenly swung up and slammed the side of his head, stopping the sparking. "Motion."

"If you're thinking of the BDS, they're the least of our worries. Their chosen from the Bio-Metals are mere children and people inexperienced with such power."

"Give a fool-fool-fool-fool-fool-fool great power and he can still get luck0-luck-luck-luck-luck-" WHACK. "Lucky."

"You're far too paranoid. Take this into consideration. To our knowledge, there is only four of the Chosen of Bio-Metal. If we simply take the time to hit ALL of the places we're going to hit, there's no way they can cover all that ground." A wicked chuckle. "Worse case scenario, we lose four, but we hit four other places."

"No, Worse Case Sce-sce-scenario would be the BDS has stronger forces than even we anticipated."

"Yes, but what are the chances of that?" He chuckled, and reached down, pressing a large thumb on a button. "Just sit back, and watch the fun."

The canisters on the walls lit up with a bright green fluid, and they all shattered.

...

The sun shown brightly down on the futuristic city. Humans walked amongst reploids, some playing, some working, some simply conversing. Smiles were plastered on every face, as cars floated well above the air, of people getting to work.

However, some people chose to dash through crowds, some traffic and seemingly talking to himself in a blind panic to work.

Guess which one Ashen was.

"I can't believe my Alarm clock didn't wake me up!" He shouted to himself, as he pushed through multiple crowds of people, grunting and huffing as he pumped the air through his lungs. "Dammit, I can't be late again, dad'll never forgive me!"

"Forgive me for sounding uncaring, but your father doesn't seem to be the kind of person to forgive you for much." Spoke the voice in his head, the voice belonging the Bio-Metal X.

"Dad just-ergh, excuse me-has a lot on his plate! He's the chief and I'm not helping matters by being late! Now stop being sarcastic and help me!"

"In...what way?"

"By not being an ass! Tell me what time it is!"

"The time is currently Seven in the morning, at the twenty eight minute mark. You know, I am an extremely powerful Bio-Metal, not your wrist watch."

"Remind me later! Come on, come on, come on..." He said, as he dove through the doors of the BDS building. (A large, bright red building with lighter pinked windows). Picking himself up, he dashed over to the front desk and gasped, "Where's dad?!"

The girl at the desk, a cute girl with long, blonde hair, a pair of glasses on the tip of her nose and wearing a BDS uniform as well could only roll her eyes and point her pen to a door near the back.

"Got it, thanks sis!" He cried to his sister and rushed to it.

His sister could only roll her eyes and go back to work.

Ashen rolled into the room and popped back up to his feet. He saluted immediately and cried, "Ashen Tyl, Reporting for Duty Dad-Sir-Dad...sir....Sir Dad!"

"Ashen...so glad of you to join us." Said his father, an annoyed groan leaving his throat at he sat at the table, with the other members of the BDS. (Well, the ones with the Bio-Metals anyway)...

"Sit down. We need to talk."

Dewey looked up from the book he was reading for a mere moment, perking a brow before returning his gaze to the book. He knew he should be done with it already, but something in his programming made him rather enjoy just reading a book. He set the page number in his memory, slipping the book into one of his pockets.

"This one just likes to disappoint, doesn't it. A wonder it's progenitor does not create a better model" 'sniffed' the airy voice of the Biometal, The reploid sighed internally, staring ahead.

"You and I both know that's not how it works Harpuia. Now quiet, The Commander is finally ready to speak" He thought to himself, idly tapping his fingers on his leg

Chou looked up as the final Mega Man joined them. She had been sitting with her arms folded and her legs crossed. "Thank you for finally joining us, Mr. Tyl. You certainly took your time. The chief would like to say a few words." She had an annoyed look on her face, but she said nothing more.

"Honestly, Model X. You could have woken the boy up." Model P chimed in, hidden in the shadows of Chou's uniform.

Zephyr, who had up until this point been finding something else in the room incredibly interesting, looked up at the Blue Mega Man and nodded. "It's good to see you... even if you could have been more on-the-ball, Ashen." He let a small smile play upon his lips.

Model Z, which was currently lying on the desk, decided to add extra commentry. " Give him a break. We've got bigger fish to fry right now than this."

"Model Z is right, in my opinion," said Zephyr evenly. He mentally added Let's get this over with, but otherwise he fell silent.

A blush adorned his face as his fathers glare and his partners words of equal disappointment (Well, save for Zephyr but he was a pretty chill guy, all things considered.). He ignored the Bio-Metals words for the moment and took a seat at an empty chair, clearing his throat and saying, "Go ahead dad..."

"Thank you for the OK from you, son." Captain Tyl rolled his eyes again and rose to his feet. He pressed a single button on the podium he stood at, and at the center of the table shot a pinpoint of light that spread out into a small, circular map of the city they lived in, Diatech City. Captain Tyl gestured to the map, noting several small red X's that were scattered about. Eight in total.

"I'm sure you know in the past few weeks, there's been several attacks at various points of the city, at seemingly random spots. One day, it's an attack at the mayors office, the next it's all the way across the town and attacking no one in particular. From what we understand, or at the very least could find, it's from that new group who keeps hanging up these posters around the city."

He threw a poster just under the holographic map, gesturing to it. On it was a scribbled warning of "MORE TO COME" just written underneath a rather forebording sign of what looked like an R mixed in with an S, written or at least marked out with an X.

"No idea what they're name in, but we've been finding this image sprayed all over the place at the scene of the attacks. We have a few suspects in custody, but they're not talking. So, here's what I want you lot to do.I want you to go out in the city and simply blend in. If you see something out of the ordinary, I want you to call for backup. If you need to, and ONLY for an emergency, use your Bio-Metal."

He was silent for a moment.

"Any questions? Objections?" he asked, as he turned the hologram off.

'Blend in, huh? Shouldn't be too hard. I'm pretty much just a voice in your head...and you? your just a domestic model with a programmed love to read' Harpuia murmured in Dewey's head, the reploid smirking and nodding to himself.

When the captain finished the briefing and asked for questions or objections, Dewey was the first to stand, resting at attention. He had no real questions, wanting instead to go about the work. He could blend in...He'd done it for years, and planned to do it till he wore out, or outright chose to cease. "None on our end. Just waiting for the go ahead, so We can do our duty, sir."Dewey said, knowing it was eerie when he spoke in the first person, and plural.

"Very well, then," Tyl said with a nod of his head and gave the four of them a salute. "You four are freed to go. Make us proud, people." He said.

Ashen could feel his fathers glare boring into the back of his skull. He knew he was thinking "Especially YOU, boy", but had too much decency to finish it. So with a sigh, Ashen rose to his feet, while his father went back to his office.

"So...how should we do this?" The Rookie asked his other partners. "Split up and cover more ground, or stay in one group?"

"Considering we have the powers of the Bio-Metals at your disposal, perhaps splitting up would be a good idea. Covering more ground would be good." X said with a quick nod of his head (Though considering it was more of a head than anything else, it basically just wobbled).

"Ah yeah, good point." Ashen nodded his own head. "Splitting up would be a better idea."

"So...who goes with who?"

Zephyr listened to the briefing in silence. He considered objecting to the idea of not being able to use his Biometal except 'in an emergency' - he might not be able to megamerge before it was too late - but thought better of it. As long as he was alert and quick on the draw, he should be fine. Operative word being should.

Ashen's suggestion made him pause for a bit, though he quickly fixed him with a cool gaze. "...Works for me. It'd probably help if we knew where to go, though, so that we can maximise our strengths."

Model Z remained silent, evidently having decided it had said enough for now.
