Why not? Just because the caption is in the speech bubble doesn't make it less of a JAFAAC. The text does all the work, the image adds nothing.

I think Madrugada wants to say that that problem would not be "JAFAAC" but "Might as well be a page quote/Text pulls all the weight".

But yes, it's not a good page image, in part because of the image quality and in part because the second panel makes it clear that they don't even need Aquaman at all, and the trope is "a hero's relatively-useless abilities turn out to be phenomenally useful because everything's contrived specifically in order to make them useful, even though realistically there's no reason to expect everything to be so convenient." At best, the current image is a subversion, and they rarely are the best choice for a page image.

My vote is Keep Until Better Image Suggested. It's not a good image, but it's not bad enough to merit pulling without a better one to replace it with.

Who said we need to replace? (This is one thing I don't really understand about this site; not every page needs an image. Pages don't automatically become better with an image, nor do they automatically become worse without one.)

I will admit, though, that you probably can't get any less text-heavy to explain this trope, although I wish that the original didn't use white letters on black. :P

There was, for quite some time, a marked tendency to pull images that were not bad, just not great, without replacing them, leaving pages imageless for no good reason. It was the subject of a rather lengthy discussion, started by Fast Eddie, here.

His position, in a nutshell: Removals without replacement should only be done when the image is actively harming understanding of the article, or if the image is NSFW.

Now, with the mod hat off, to me this is an "OK" image, as defined here, and should not be pulled without being replaced with one that's better.

I would say it falls under several criteria of "5. bad image", i.e. (a) Isn't an example of the trope, since it shows a subversion; (b) Doesn't illustrate the trope, for the same reason; (c) Visuals Add Nothing/Might as well be a page quote; and (d) Text in the image is illegible or difficult to read.

I think it might be a better quote than the current, even though the emphasis on "WE'VE GOT TO" is part of an unrelated track Seanbaby has on Superfriends.
