When the guy who made Commando tries to tackle social commentary, you get this movie.

Roger Ebert said that "It is violent, funny, scary, contains boldly outlined characters, and gets us involved." I'd say that pretty well covers it. I have no doubt in my mind that it's an exploitation masterpiece, as far as any exploitation film can be. And it only feels more meaningful today, even if it does also feel more ridiculous.

And the part where the teacher ices the evil student with a table saw is worth the price of admission for those who stomach that sort of thing regularly. Man.

So, any other fans?

I've heard of it, but that's about the extent of my knowledge, which is why although I want to fix up the work page, I unfortunately can't, particularly in providing the context for entries that are currently Zero Context Examples.

(And, hell, expanding the description a little so the page image isn't 3x as large would be nice. Again, though, haven't seen it.)

I'll see if I can give it a more thorough summary, to start with.

I got to watch this for a class about High schoolers and how they're portrayed in cinema. My teacher loved all kinds of films from the art house to B-movie splatter. It was enjoyable and I was cheering during the ending when the teacher finally kills the gang in gruesome ways. Also it was Michael J. Fox's film debut and he was so adorable. Its a B movie, but you wouldn't really realize it till the ending. Its worth at least one watch. Oh, did anybody else think that the girl in the gang inspired the look and voice for Harley Quinn particularly for the Arkham games? Or was it just me?

How many sequels did this have again? Two?

A lot of people appear more aware of Class of Nuke 'Em High'' (sort of parody) than this, in my online experiences anyway.
