Yeah you're right, they would have to come up for a good reason as to why the dragons would disappear than simply "the book says so". That's why I said "if it's done right". :P Then again, I thought I read somewhere that now the series might get KFP's treatment and be given more films after a third one. At least they have more direct material to base the films off so it makes sense.

Real talk though, does anyone think KFP 3 will stand a chance at next year's Oscars? Competing against not only Zootopia, but Finding Dory and Moana as well? I doubt it's even a question.

I'll be betting more on HTTYD 3 beating Frozen 2 at the Oscars, if they'll really come out at similar times.

No one has anything to say about the Oscars I guess. Just dropped by to write an interesting trivia I read about Shen; apparently he was so complicated to animate the creators described it like animating six characters at once. surprised

Well you had to take into account all those extra feathers, not to mention the tail.

Who could know that animating a peacock would be hard?
I still have yet to see the movie, but I actually like what I've seen.

I'm guessing his tail feathers had something to do with it too. I'm really glad they went that extra effort giving us such an amazing villain, design as well as personality.

Btw, I was thinking how Tai Lung must be leading a much happier existence now chilling in the spirit realm than he did being chained in prison for 20 years. tongue

I'm not sure if it's much of an improvement honestly. The Spirit Realm seems like a place for the peaceful and enlightened. A guy like Tai Lung would probably go insane with boredom.

I do wonder if those going to the spirit realm would be troubled with Who Wants to Live Forever?, even as they're technically not living, it doesn't seem to be a whole lot of stuff to do over there. Probably among those movie logic things you're not supposed to think about. tongue

Btw I just read some hilarious news about a screening of the film in my country. Apparently one of them had a child crying throughout the whole film, which increasingly irritated other parents and by the end of the film, dads went over to the kid's own dad and confronted him, and it ultimately ended with several men starting to physically fight each other right there in the screening room. The new's title referred to it as "Kung Fu Panda turned into Kung Fu Daddy".

The article in question should anyone be wondering (in Norwegian that is).

It's begun I guess, Dreamworks will be accused of promoting violence with the KFP films, and my country started it.

And here I was complaining about noisy children during my own viewing. Glad it didn't turn out like out. tongue

(Then again, that could've been pretty entertaining in its own right.)

I didn't have any noise, just a kid in one of the screenings who couldn't sit still and kept hanging over his seat and stare at the people around him. Nothing too annoying.

And pardon, this was Sweden, not Norway.

Well if you can go back any time you like like it's implied, I don't think a lot of the masters there have any problem staying for a while.

Well, Oogway might be able to, and so could Po with a boatload of chi, but I can't imagine that's exactly common. Even Kai needed Oogway's chi to do it.

In my showing the noisy kid was of the amusing sort. He kept humming Kai's leitmotif right on cue with the soundtrack whenever he appeared.

Sweet, got it.

While I remember, I hope you don't think I was just referring to this thread when I added the Broken Base comment, I've seen people discuss Po's 'new' look other places as well.

For that matter, I've even seen one or two comment that Tigress looks different too, which I didn't even realize until it was pointed out. With her I don't really mind however as she still looks gorgeous.

I'm guessing it was distributed by them, at least as a parent company.

You guys REALLY dont know? I guess its because you are more focused on the artstic side of flimmaking which is understandable. Comcast bought Dreamworks! They havent gotten around actually distributing anything, but they bought Dreamworks at 3.8 billion dollars! For now at least Dreamworks doesnt have to worry about going bankrupt!

As long as Comcast stays out of Dreamworks making their movies I'm fine with that. If they start to ruin Dreamworks's name as a company then I will be mad.

I don't see why they would, but who knows? If they just serve as a life vest, I can't really complain.
