DW has details on Pope Francis' visit to Orban.
Pope says abortion is murder US bishops should not be political
Headline basically sums it’s up
Ngl, dunno if this is really helpful statement
In that does this decisively states authoritatively what should be done
Well besides abortion is murder apparently
"Pope says abortion is "murder" but U.S. bishops should not be political"
Your summary of the headline was slightly confusing.
"Pope Francis said on Wednesday that abortion is "murder", even soon after conception, but appeared to criticise some U.S. Catholic bishops for dealing with U.S. President Joe Biden's pro-choice position in a political rather than pastoral way."

I think there’s a global conspiracy to see who can get the most clicks on the worst liesI think the Pope is trying to say "keep your hands off electoral politics and do your fucking jobs as bishops, instead of using the pulpit to spew hate."
So, is this a Catholic Church-only thing? “La Palma volcano: Residents hold procession praying for eruption to end”
As a connoisseur of volcanoes I know that eruptions at Etna and Vesuvius also had religious ceremonies imploring God to halt the events. But I don't think I've heard of any other religion doing this, except Hawaiians.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanEh, Catholic processions can be held depending on the circumstances -which I think these eruptions might merit-, rural or small communities tend to do this more often than their urban counterparts, if only because they are more devoted.
Not that urban processions are not a thing, the Lord of the Miracles is a famous one in Lima for instance, but they are not exactly as common because urban people tend to be less religious and/or because it's not considered appropiate.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.It may also be a practical issue in that its harder (or at least a more involved process) getting planning permission in big cities since these would probably involve closing streets.
Pope Francis showed off a Ukrainian flag given to him while leading mass in the Vatican. He condemns (again) the invasion of Ukraine.
Cardinal Joseph Zen is arrested in HK for supposedly breaching the NSL. He’s allowed to post bail, but needs to surrender his HK passport.
NSL?
I think there’s a global conspiracy to see who can get the most clicks on the worst liesNational Security Law, from what I have searched.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."It's probably time if so. Man has more than earned his retirement and it'll help the precedent (that popes should serve a term and abdicate).
Pope Francis has now openly acknowledged the rumors of his retirement, saying that while "it is not a taboo" for the Pope to step down and he'll do so if he thinks it's necessary, he doesn't believe he's there yet.

Vice News report on allegations of sexual abuses cases that happened in Japan from within the minority Roman Catholic community.
Part of it is that he was stripped of his position for "blasphemous communication" - that is, he put an aborted fetus on an altar. He's also been consistently disobeying instructions from his bishop to cut the shit out, including direct defiance of the Vatican's position that abortion to save the life of the mother is permissible.
…Should…Should I be asking where he got an aborted fetus from?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I suspect that question played a role in his expulsion from the priesthood. Even with the bar as low as it is, someone engaging in corpse desecration inside a church is pretty shocking.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranAnd setting it on the alter of a church is not only straight up blasphemy, it also harkens back to folk depictions of what a "Satanic Mass" would look like. In other words, what Mr. Pavone did was profane to basically the highest extent.
Not to mention, again, desecration, disobeying the Vatican, etc.
The awful things he says and does are burned into our cultural consciousness like a CRT display left on the same picture too long. -FighteerAnd it still took eight years after pulling that stunt to get him defrocked, because the Church only moves fast against progressive renegades.

@fredhot16: The question has indeed been asked; ex-father Pavone has told contradictory stories as to how he obtained it—there's some suspicion that it's actually a normal miscarried fetus that he outright bought for the purpose. See Mary Pezullo's Steel Magnificat blog for her research on the topic.
If I understand correctly, the "altar" in that photo appears not to have been genuine, much less consecrated. That stunt of his notwithstanding, the reason for Pavone's laicization was set out clearly: several well-documented cases of disobedience to the legitimate orders of his direct ecclesiastical superior. I'd recommend praying for the fellow.
Catholic Church's membership aside is it considered a fedaral crime to desecrate a corpse in the USA? And if so is the only reason he's not being charged is that foetuses are not considered equal to a corpse? (To be clear not being passive aggressive -pointing out his hypocrisy)

Orban would listen to that about as much as American white supremacists would listen to a Native American telling them to go back home and leave America for the Americans.
