Is this a late April Fool's joke? D:
Roger Ebert and now Margaret Thatcher? All the cool, important people are dying. It's the end times.
You need an adult.Hopey: I kinda want to hear your biased viewpoint about that other stuff.
Alma: You clearly weren't on here during a stretch in 2011 when people speculated about Death Notes.
INT is knowing a tomato is a fruit. WIS is knowing it doesn't belong in a fruit salad. CHA is convincing people that it does.No you don't.
I am of the understanding that this occasion is the source of jubilation and excited joy for some, which I must confess I find slightly disturbing.

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!@ Lemon. The further north you go in Britain, the bigger the party.
Hopey: Yes, I do.
You don't just mention something like that, and not expect me to be interested.

Well that cheered me up.
So the Highlanders are all going Braveheart?
I kid.
INT is knowing a tomato is a fruit. WIS is knowing it doesn't belong in a fruit salad. CHA is convincing people that it does.I think there's something inherently disturbing about celebrating a death, regardless of the person. When people cheered for Osama Bin Laden's death, I was a little put off. Not because Bin Laden was a nice guy, but because it just seemed slightly ironic that the people who were angry at Bin Laden for killing others were happy that he was killed.
And no, I wasn't around in 2011. I joined last year, I think.

You need an adult.I'll be honest, I hated her stinking guts, but I'm incredibly biased about it.
Not to mention her death really doesn't mean all that much. She hasn't been in office for how long? Her deeds are done and that's the end of that.
My Dad will sure be happy about it. I'm more or less Mmmkay.

YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYThatcher's dead, but Thatcherism isn't.
That's the key here.
That's a healthier way to look at it at least.
YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYThatcherism won't die with Thatcher.
Not that the Iron Lady herself managed to remember, though.
Unlike some of the folk north of the border, I won't celebrate her death. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of her PRIVATISE EVERYTHING approach, but what she did do was show backbone in an age where our politicians seem to be increasingly lacking it*, and in my mind that's a pretty precious commodity.
So although I never was around when she was Prime Minister, I'm going to miss some things and be glad to see the back of others.
Locking you up on radar since '09To be honest, the only thing I admired about her term was the Falklands.
But I'm even more biased about that particular event... :S
YUUGI WANTS YOU FOR DRINKING BUDDYThe only thing I respect from her is not the fact that she's the only female PM. There'll be another.
It's the fact that she took issue with Reagan's invasion of Grenada. It says a lot about American politicians in particular.

...
Well. Anything I could say would probably be rather grave-dance-y, so I'm just gonna say that that happened. Also that I'll keep close watch on her body in case it rises from the dead.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.I barely knew anything about this woman, other than she was British and a politician.
So the reasons for hating her fly somewhat over my head.
All I know about Margaret Thatcher is that she was mentioned in a Pink Floyd song and they apparently blame her for everything that's gone wrong in Britain since the Second World War.
You need an adult. To be honest, her politics were pretty anethemic to myself (and to people of my ethnic origin). I am sure there will be street parties here in Birmingham. After all, this was an industry city hit by her South-centric policies.
Hopey, what does that word mean?
Google does not know, and that frightens me.
What word? Anathemic?

Anathemic basically means "a bad thing".
You need an adult.
Margaret Thatcher has died this morning.
She was the former Prime Minister of the UK from 1979-90. She was the most divisive political figure here at the time, responsible for huge job losses in the manufacturing industry, and a process of political deregulation OF ALL THE SECTORS.
She also did a bunch of other shit which I can't explain without being hugely biased.
