Notably, they're not asking for more money to complete the project. They're just asking people to be satisfied with more time.

many of these voice-actors have been in games that had Tim Schaffer's involvement. While they are at it,they should get Kath Soucie,Mark Hamill,Tony Plana and Maria Canals-Barrera as well.
I hope they eventually port this game to consoles(namely PS 3,since I own that one, heh.)as my PC is so shitty it doesn't even run early 00's games that great and I don't have money to upgrade it.
Beta released
Slooooowly downloading...
i. hear. a. sound.Finished it, it was awesome, and I sincerely recommend finishing the boy's side first for plot reasons.
i. hear. a. sound.Strongly seconded.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I didn't understand the ending at all until I want on the backer forums.
DumboThe puzzles where very easy, but I thought the experience was too charming overall for that to be a problem.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianIs the beta a Kickstarter backer only thing?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I think you can buy early access on steam if your not a backer.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianFinally played it, completed both stories. EEE I loved it! :D
Can't wait for Act 2!
Great game. Act 2 can't come soon enough.
Mental note: before trying to rub two things together make sure you have clicked on everything first.
Apart from my own stupidity I had very little trouble beating this game...and Act 2 can't come soon enough.
As someone with little to no experience with adventure games, this is definitely a pleasant first try. The puzzles were clever, not too complicated (except if you missed picking something up at the beginning, like I did...) and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. Cliffhangers kill me though. Act 2 can't come soon enough.
Hey, I've moved to a new account! I go by Silver Glyph now.Psst, guys. I think I've found a glitch. I have the Diamond-shaped window piece, but it won't go into the socket in the Dead Eye Temple. Any suggestions?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."Double fine has decided to release the Doublefine adventure Doumentary for the public....

Basically you can view it on YT for free in 720p though spoilers will be blurred
You can purchase it for 10 dollars until act 2 is released (then its 15 dollars for the basic pack and 20 to get access to the special features)
Act 2 is coming on the 28th!
Act 2 has arrived for americans so i'm going to go into hiding
I've finished it. No spoilers, I promise.
I've seen people and review headlines saying the story is ok but the puzzles are unfair, and I've seen people say the puzzles are fine but the story sucks. I think neither of these. The puzzles definitely spike in difficulty and there are a couple times you have to make some large logic leaps, but they made sense. I did have to look up hints a couple of times, but a lot of the time if I walked away for a while, my brain went "oh! The pieces you need are here!" The story does lean on a couple of cliches but I didn't have many severe issues with the execution and there were some nice emotional bits.
In the announcement of Act Two's release, Schaefer recommends you go back and play Act 1 first and I agree - you'll want it fresh in your head going in. It shouldn't take you long. To say the game was split in half isn't quite accurate; it's more like Act 1 is the first third. I think it would have been better for players if the game was released as a whole but it would have been worse for Double Fine if they didn't release something in the Act 1 timeframe besides documentary episodes.
So overall, I wish things could have gone more smoothly, but I'm glad I backed this.
Teal deer version: They've decided to release the game in two parts and sell the first part through Steam Early Access starting around next January, in order to avoid having to pretty much cut 50-75% of the planed content to get it back on budget. As is the case with many creative types, Tim tends to design bigger than what budgets will actually expand to fit.
Personally, I'm ok with this as a backer (I'm only in at the lowest tier, mind, and I'm in it as much for the documentary; in that sense I already feel I've gotten my money's worth) but it does echo a warning that has been circulating in some circles for a while: scope creep based on getting more Kickstarter money than you expected can get you in hot water.
