It looks like it is to me. Compare Fairy Dragon and Bloodfen Raptor, or Sen'jin Shieldmasta and Fen Creeper.

So Murloc and Beast are both worth 1 point. I wonder if Demon is also worth a point — it would explain some aspects of Warlock balance.

I'll tell you, one of the things that I cannot seem to balance is spell damage. Its base value is 2 for +1, but Malygos gets 5 for 3 points, and the Azure Drake is OP regardless. Stealth seems to be worth 1, but that makes the Ravenholdt Assassin terrible.

After reviewing my prior analysis of the Buzzard change, I found I made a goof myself. The 5 mana Buzzard would be balanced around drawing 3 cards, not 2. (I was mistakenly treating Buzzard's balance like something along the lines of Arcane Intellect, but Buzzard, Cult Master, and Gadgetzan Auctioneer are balanced a little differently than other draw cards. I should have known better.)

[up][up][up]Stealth probably scales with damage in some way like Windfury, Charge and Divine Shield, since its value is that the minion will likely survive the opponent's turn.

[up]Or, more likely, Ravenholdt Assasin is just a terrible card. Like Lord of the Arena, it seems amazing at first, but stealth and taunt are overrated and can't make up for the terrible stats. The stats do seem amazing at first, but they are pretty bad.

Lord of the Arena is a bomb in Arena, funnily enough.

But in constructed he's bad. Baaaaaaaaaaad.

Trump on the Buzzard and Leeroy changes:

Note to self: draft every Dark Cultist you can while in Arena. It's silly.

The Buzzard change seems way excessive. They were definitively overpowered, before, with the immense card draw potential, but now it is, as Trump says, dead. At turn five you can't expect a 2 health minion to survive a turn, and it is rather hard to play in combination with even a beast due to its cost.

The Leeroy change seems really reasonable, though. To me it seems it still have potential to be a finisher, just not for a crazy 20 damage burst.

Err. I just faced a Priest player that had a copy of my own Lay on Hands (via Thoughtsteal). He used it on himself while he had an Auchenai Soulpriest out (taking 8 damage to draw cards). Either he forgot about the Soulpriest or didn't know that Lay on Hands can heal any target (so he could've used it to 'heal' me, instead of himself). Either way, it was a big misplay (the 8 damage allowed me to take him out a bit earlier than expected).

A surprising number of Priest players forget about the effect of Auchenai Soulpriest when making plays. I've seen some tremendous misplays with it.

I've done it enough times I took it out of my deck so I'd stop doing it [nja]

I love Auchenai Soulpriest. I don't know how I'd play without it. I've won so many games today from the zombie chow + circle combo.

Not to mention huge board clears with circle, followed by a couple minions.

Also yesterday something weird happened. I got disconnected while playing Equality, and when I got reconnected the animation continued playing and I never got the card back, making me look like the holiest of Paladins ever.

It hurts, because I had lethal the turn I got disconnected and had several issues in later turns where the missing card in my hand caused me to play a card other than the one I clicked to play. So I lost a few turns later. =( But at least I looked cool losing.

I feel kind of bad, but I'm secretly glad that hunters will most likely be gone from the ladder for awhile. I ran into nothing but hunter and zoo (and like one paladin) yesterday over 12 games. It got so boring.

Today I got 11 wins in the Arena with a very solid Mage deck I made! And with only one epic (a BGH), too. Sadly my final match was against a paladin bot that got very lucky with draws and capitalized on my lack of drafting Flamestrike.

That feeling when the opponent has a Kel'thuzad out behind two hexed frogs and you realize that there is no combination of cards left in your deck that can stop it.

I love running into people that don't know what Feugan and Stalagg do. I was facing control warrior who threw a Kor'kron Elite into my Stalagg. I then played Feugan, passed the turn. He had played an Alextrasza on himself the turn before, so he slams her into my Feugan, then says "Thank you."

Thaddeus gets summoned.

He sits there and mouses over it for a sec, then concedes.

[up]Also, read the cards if you have never seem them before. Their text is not particularly ambiguous. I guess you can't know how powerful Thaddius, but it should still make you think before allowing him to be summoned.

Presumably you would have suicided your Feugen into Alexstrasza to summon Thaddius on your next turn, then had something else to finish her off with, so the misplay was more one of, "I can't remove Thaddius, so GG." At least, that's how I'd have read it. Not that he might not have had a complete brain fart; that's certainly possible.

In that situation, assuming I lacked a way to counter the Deathrattle, I'd hit your face with Alexstrasza and hope that I could do enough damage to kill you before Thaddius stormed in and wrecked me.

I would have done the same with Alexstrasza, but he made a terrible misplay. I had brought him to ten already, and I was still at 30. Instead of hitting me with Alexstrasza and forcing me to trade, he bumped himself back up to 15. I'm fairly certain this lost him the game.

Did he play Alexstrasza on an empty board when he was at 10 life and you were at 30? If so, that's pretty bad. At that point I'd YOLO it and smack you instead, hoping to burst you down.

I still need to get Alex in my collection...

I had... I think it was a Dark Cultist on the field? It was pretty inconsequential. But apparently he was really scared of dying.
