Ditto. I don't dislike it and I can enjoy some of the sketches but in general it doesn't really impress me.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnHow is the RWBY Vol 4 soundtrack?

Mileena MadnessIt seems good.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnArmed and ready is hype AF this needs to play during Yangs rematch with Adam.
Not a fan of the soundtrack at all. There are two songs I think are okay. I've got no interest in the rest.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I have no great hatred for the soundtrack, but no great love for it either. The love songs especially don't interest me.
I liked the soundtrack myself.
Does the music play in the show at all...?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.As great as guys doing the song track are. I think they're starting to get stale to some people.
It may help if RT hired other people to do some songs. Like the band who did the fan song for Tai Yang

I'm quite fond of the soundtrack. I've even downloaded most of it to my tablet and listen to a good deal of the Volume 2-3 songs on my way to and from work. I've been kind of lazy and haven't listened to most of Volume 4's yet.
The only love songs I'm fond of are 'Boop' and 'Dream Come True'. Boop is downright tooth-rottening and it's quite difficult not to smile when listening to it. Dream Come True, meanwhile, just happens to have a musical style (finger-snapping, a smooth, jazzy feel) that I enjoy quite a bit.
'Armed and Ready' might have knocked 'I May Fall' out as my favorite song. Each line after the chorus when that guitar (piano? keyboard?) starts climbing is pure, unadulterated fire.
'Bad Luck Charm' was hype AF until I heard the full version. It worked as Qrow's Image Song but the beat just... doesn't change much. I don't know what the greater musical symbolism of that is, I'm no musician, but I don't like it.
The issue I brought up before with the music is that I think they're stretching Jeff and Casey too thin with all of this additional music they just throw into each soundtrack, and sooner or later all of the "Crapsaccharine World and Hidden Depths songs" are going to get stale.
I really think they should hold some of this music back until the volume it's actually being used in - not referring to Armed and Ready in particular, but I May Fall was actually in Volume 1's soundtrack as I recall, but it was later used in Velvet's fight with the Paladin where... honestly, I don't think it fit very well.
Someone here (or in some review I was reading elsewhere) said the lyrical songs don't really fit with the show's action sequences - I disagree, but, eh. I'd say Bad Luck Charm, Die, and Red Like Roses Part II all fit pretty well.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!On the subject of music though.
This guy does some pretty kick-ass Orchestral renditions of the music in RWBY, making them sound like RPG battle themes.
As in, the songs? Yes they do.
Let's Just Live was the opening.
Armed and Ready was the credits song.
Like Morning Follows Night played during the fight with Sea Dragon Grimm.
This Life is Mine (well, small fragment of it) played during Weiss' concert.
Bad Luck Charm played during the last part of Qrow vs Tyrian.
Home played while Ruby was writing her letter to Yang.
The only two songs that don't appear in Volume 4 proper are Lusus Naturae (which was the credits song in Grimm Eclipse; still, the intrumental version can be heard a couple of times as a theme of Grimm) and Bmblb (which wasn't even supposed to be there at first; it's a bonus song that Jeff wrote as an apology for taking so long with Volume 4 soundtrack).
And about Volume 4 OST- I really like it. Only things I don't like about it are Lamar's rapping in Like Morning Follows Night (not a fan of rap in general) and ''Bmblb" existing (cause it's completely removed from the actual Volume and only causes ship wars; the song itself is ok, if not exactly amazing).
Huh, really?
And those orchestral arrangements are amazing. Sounds like Kingdom Hearts music. Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.
This is my favorite music from Season 3:
Particularly the bit from 0:56 and after. Freaking love it.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Sounds like it belongs in Kingdom Hearts.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Eh, too electro for that.
but HOW?Perhaps.
Enter the Void or bust
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Great news!
The Japanese dub of RWBY is coming to Crunchyroll.
I wonder if Crunchyroll will use Roosterteeth's official subtitles or their own since the official subtitles are just transcripts of the english dub. (eg. In the english version, Neon Katt mocks Yang by suggesting she's fat for being "Top Heavy" while in the Japanese version Neon outright calls Yang fat due to her Big Boobs.)
Glad to hear that the superior original version is arriving soon
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnSad thing is there may well me someone thinking that
Well, let me ask you this one thing: Does the English version have Yang cry out "Ora ora ora!" when punching things? No? I rest my case.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I know that when RWBY first aired on Crunchyroll people asked for the original Japanese. Now who knows how many of them were doing it ironically or not, but it did happen.
Hmm, compelling argument.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI enjoy listening to RWBY in Japanese just because it's kind of surreal, going from something "anime-esque" that you know was originally in English, going the other way.
To me rwby is a really good show with the potential to be amazing and could possibly cause a massive revolution for web animation the same way rvb did for machinima (the filmmaking style not the once great site that has fallen from grace). However I would be lying if I said it didnt have a lot of problems. But hey fallout 3 skyrim and mass effect have massive problems and i still love them.
As for chibi being a mixed bag. I personally find the majority of the skits funny how ever I agree there are duds (though to be fair all skit based shows have at least a few duds).
