Good— GOD are we spoiled by whatever studio's animation in the Dragons TV show! Nick's budget makes Susan and all the other humans move like animatronic robots!
Most of Dragons animation was done by Dreamworks' unit at Technicolor India.
That explains it.
I actually like the show's animation. Its not fantastic, but it's better than, say, Penguins of Madagascar.
In fact, the animation is about the only thing I *know* for sure I like. So far, I do not like the format (two ministories per episode), there's more comedy than action, and the comedy that there is more... odd than funny. It's sadly not living up to the movie's potential (which I liked quite a bit.) Also, WHEN are we going to meet the rest of the aliens from the credits? Still, I don't hate yet, so I won't declare it garbage, but it better improve soon.
I do admit, BOB moves nearly almost like he did in the movie, and that is impressive.
The only thing keeping me from enjoying it is the fact they won't shut up for more than 1 milisecond.
The most recent episodes were an improvement, if only due to coverton and link.
This.
Looking for some stories?Meh, i don't consider that a huge deal.
Well, technically she's a superhero now, not a monster/freak (and it makes it much easier for her to interact with the rest of cast- see who else is missing? Yep, the Giant Moth) but I don't mind that much anyway. I'm more annoyed by the fact that nothing is being done with her *character*. She was more interesting in the movie.

After watching the third episode, I think I'm inclined to agree with Shota's comment about the humans looking and moving like animatronics.
Though I'd go as far as to say everyone, sans B.O.B., seems to do so.
Which is odd, considering you would think a character like BOB would be the HARDEST for a TV CG studio with a small budget to animate correctly!
Really? I thought shiny blobs were one of the first things CG was good for. Maybe getting the translucency right would be a little tricky.
BOB also separates and reattaches himself. THAT is difficult to do in CG.
CGI issues aside, anyone feel the writers aren't really trying here? The characters so far are really flat, Bob's the only one acting like his movie self, and that's not a deep character in the least.
Latest episode has the cliche "trying to avoid telling your friend the truth" thing going on, but it was freaking BOB.
Tell him Diane went on a diet and the issue would've been over in seconds.
If they aren't going to actually work with the setting and characters, and instead just rehash cartoon cliches that don't even work with these characters, I don't see what the point is. At least hearing Diedrich Bader again is worth a few points, but so far that's about it.
Eh, most of these Dreamworks shows are mediocre cash grabbers to be honest. Dragons has the most production values but that's about it, Kung Fu Panda is a generic Saturday morning cartoon with a cliche villian of the week format, and Penguins of Madagascar is just meh all around. This however, seems like their worst effort so far though. It feels completely soulless.

To be fair, BOB doesn't even have a brain, let alone a soul.
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEENot all of them. Kung Fu Panda is actually pretty entertaining most of the time, as is Dragons, which has the best animation out of all of them, evident in that it's the only Dreamworks TV show to be animated by one of their divisions.

Not true, Kung-Fu Panda and Penguins are also animated at the same division.
No. Kung Fu Panda and Penguins are animated by Nickelodeon's animation company, not Dreamworks'.

In the movie, BOB's material shader and compositing was incredibly complex. They had to create several new technologies just for him. I'm surprised he held up for the show as much as he does.
Watched the first ep and it does what the people at dreamworks wanted it to do, be the Penguins' successor
http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.php"Frenemy Mine" and "Maximum BOB" made me realize something: the vast majority of the humor in this show is Bob-related, to the point it could be called "BOB and the Monsters of Area 50-something". So far, only him, Codwell and the President have been spotlighted. When are we going to have episodes about Susan, Dr. Roach or Link? And when are the rest of the aliens going to be introduced? I'm really looking up to them, especially the female who (in the credits) pwns Link's tail.
Another thing: this show has no subtlety. They take a joke and BEAT IT TO THE DEATH. For example, in Frenemy, the joke was that BOB had been made Cadwell's Safety Buddy. So they have this result in suffering for the latter. Except they do it OVER AND OVER AND OVER! Instead of finding different ways of making it interesting. And in Maximum BOB, having one clone BOB, cannot be enough, nooo, they have to have an army! They seem to think that exaggeration makes EVERYTHING funny. Uh-uh.

I hate how Susan's power change undoes her character development from the film. She accepted her powerset, size, and monster status but now it's just something she can turn on or off.
