A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yeah, but I'm confused where that comes from; was it like a poll of what people think or author's notes or what?
It's quite strange that Rindou and the fifth seat guy aren't on there. Although looking at Reddit it seems to be called the best "confirmed" chefs, so maybe it's ignoring everyone who hasn't had their power shown? Either way lol Eizan and Kuga.
Dunno. But it's in the volume. There are notes that explain each placing however.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Nene being ranked the weakest could at least be chopped up to maybe her having a Crippling Overspecialization, but yeah the list is suspect as hell.
Especially at Soma being ranked on the same level as Megumi and Takumi.

I don't particularly have issue with that, actually.
Nothing much to say about this chapter really.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, this is pretty shit so far. Just the same old played cards of "innovation!" "common food!" and "friendship!" that show whenever Souma cooking, and they both telegraph that he wins and just drag things out needlessly.
Also , like LSBK said, the reaction to Nene dish was way more impressive so...
All of this could be turned on it's head if Souma lost here, but I can't imagine that happening, even though it would be a way more interesting turn of events.
I mean, I get being bored by it, but shit? There's nothing objectively terrible here unless you just don't like Soma's matches in which case, there's not much else to say. At the very least, it's gonna be over next chapter.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I would like it more if he lost, yeah. Maybe he could still play sous chef to Erina at the climax.
I guess you could argue that repeating the same the formula with little deviation can lead to diminishing returns. Like, I wouldn't call it shit either but I definitely get why others are frustrated with how the chapter turned out.
But then, the same can be said for a lot of weekly shonen series, TBF

Diminishing returns makes sense, and I like I said, I'm bored of it myself and would agree that him losing would at least be something different. That said, losing also carries it's own issues but I can't say I wouldn't prefer it.
On a funnier note, Soma has beaten every top 2nd year barring Isshiki :V
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Not sure I'd call it shit, but this hasn't been very entertaining so far. Oh, and Soma also has "tradition" on his side too. How about that.
Well, chapter's out. Well, that's an interesting reason for her to lose, I guess, but I call bullshit that Souma would realize this would happen and Nene would not. Whatever, at least they didn't draw it out for another chapter.
I don't necessarily like the reasoning, but I can accept it. It's at least something relevant to the competition and food preparation.
And boy, Soma sure did have a lot of "help" in this "team" Shokugeki huh. :V

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I can almost buy this completely, but I still don't really like it. The standard formula has just worn itself a little thin now.
What are you talking about? Isshiki assured his victory by raising that win flag so hard.

I say, wipe them all out.
...It has nothing to do with this series, but hey, it'd be different.
Anyway, I pretty much agree with the sentiments of others. The logic is sound, but that don't mean I have to like it.
One Strip! One Strip! The series should take a break from the Shokugeki format after this arc. It's no secret that we've gotten bored of them at this point, and a break would at least help the author figure out how write them without feeling so...tedious.
People only read this for the cute girls anyway, may as well go all in and make a romcom :v
Le shock! Souma won!
No, not the "Thinking about the customers" and "Working in an eatery is just so hardcore it gives you superpowers" bullshit that shows up every time. This card was used way too many times by now and it's annoying.
And yeah wow, for all this talk about teamwork Souma just goes and solos because he's just so fucking great, man were those chapter pointless in retrospect.
And really the writing was just so clumsy. Did they think they were clever by having the audience go "Well of course Nene cooking was better.", like anyone was fooled by that.
Really I just want this fucking arc to be over with. Central is nothing but a joke from the start, and it looks like even Elite 10 won't be any different.
You might be better off just dropping the series and coming back at this point. The way the pacing is going, this arc might last until the end of the year lol.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm personally being optimistic, sort of. I think Nene was just used to show that Souma is a lot better now and then teamwork will be more important once the real heavy hitters come out. At worst, he and Erina are going to work together and find out they have amazing teamwork and chemistry etc etc.
Cena wins lol
Its not like I believe this arc has been terrible or anything, but it could be so much better lol. But I digress. At least we can see how the rest of the rebels fair.
And wow, Arha is positive about something? Didn't think you were capable underneath all of that dry wit. :P
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
Wait, what?
