Well that's kind of the point: Azami's methods breed amazing results, but at the same time kill any sort of creativity and innovation. Its cooking without a soul basically.
Soma/Jouichiro disagree with this philosophy and feel that to truly create amazing dishes, you need to be willing to risk failure and experiment with anything you can think of.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.It should be.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm asking for narrative cohesiveness, not large action panels.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. It's probably worth noting that Erina is the lowest ranking of the Elite 10. While she'd be a valuable ally, she wouldn't be able to single-handedly solve anything on her own.

We have no idea how good she is or isn't because she's never had a meaningful match.
I don't think it really matters right now though.
I actually completely forgot about that, despite all of the shilling and praise she gets, she hasn't had a proper match against anyone...well anyone worthwhile anyway. That is actually pretty weird.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Listen. I know full well that Erina can't whoop everyone's asses on her own.
I just find the idea of Erina kicking everyone's ass (in cooking!) to be funny.
And unless you have no soul, the rest of you should as well.
One Strip! One Strip!I'll be satisfied if she doesn't go all tsundere next week and feebly pretend that she didn't like it.
...
I won't lie. When I wrote that line, I expected you to say something with more snark.
I'm a big enough man to admit when I'm wrong.
Also, I doubt she'll do something like that. This seems like something too vital for her to backtrack. Shokugeki No Soma seems like a series that does't do take backs like that.
One Strip! One Strip!Naw see, she's going to be all Tsundere so Soma will be more motivated to make more food for her and she'll get to taste it.
I really don't expect her to admit to wanting to try more of his cooking cuz she's a Tsundere and being honest is the last thing they'll ever do :V
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.To be fair, I also don't want her to be completely satisfied with it, but I won't care much if she is.
I think my scenario is the most likely, it gives Soma a reason to keep trying to one up her and Erina gets to experience wonders of "Tsundere character development"
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. What, like her berating him over what he could have done better, followed by a "But... b-but it wasn't bad."?

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Naw more like
- Erina: This dish was good, but it can use some improvements
- (Soma comes back after her advice)
- Erina: Better, but nowhere near Saiba-sama. You'll never surpass him with a dish like this.
- Soma: Are you using me taste my food?
- Erina: I am insulted by such accusations...now go come back with the next improved dish.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. That's basically what I'm hoping for, though not with that same emphasis.
I was kind of parodying, but yea that seems most likely.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Still, it was nice to have a breather chapter where they finally develop Erina's character. All we've seen so far of her was being haughty or doing exposition. Looking forward to the next chap.
Also doubles as a CMOH in my humble opinion.
Apparently, the creators collaborate with a real, honest-to-goodness chef in making the recipes shown in their chaps. So, the answer's likely to be a 'yes'.

ACCOUNT NO LONGER USED. *straps on jetpack*So uh...a little question:
Can you actually deep fry an egg like that?
I didn't know you could freeze the egg and then cook it, though. Most egg tempura recipes usually just call for the egg to be soft-boiled before covering it in tempura and then frying it. Imma try the frozen version soon.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I should really try to make some of this food in this series. They usually give out the instructions after all.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Quite a number of the dishes are fairly simple, so they're actually not that difficult to make, and are really tasty to boot. I've personally made the egg souflee, the char okakiage, the mackerel burger. I convinced my cousin to try and make Takumi's duck breast with Japanese-style salsa verde and it turned out amazing. On a whim we also made the grilled squid with strawberry jam. Let's just say it wouldn't have felt weird to be molested by tentacles at that moment.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Really, when I see them talk about various recipes in this series I don't usually wonder if such a thing is possible but rather why people treat it like it's so shocking.
Well that proves Azami's method does works, its just not fun.
