Necroing because of memories being bought back and because I feel there should be some closure for this RP and it's story. So here's everything I had planned from the start:
The future Earth has become under attack from unknown monsters, Lovecraftian abominations and set to fight them by using their resources to create humongous mechas.
The most elite soldiers and fighters are chosen to control these mechs through motion capture in the giant robots' hearts. With more and more monsters coming regular citizens were chosen through lotteries and specialised tests. With more mechs being mass produced.
The story focuses on Dan and Summer, two teens whose parents worked on the mech project and got chosen to pilot two mechs made especially for them after their parents died.
The story focuses around their developing relationship as they fight off hordes of monsters while discovering the truth about why they were chosen and the mechs' creation.
Eventually it turns out they were experiments of half-human/half-monster nature in order to try and understand the creatures' DNA and the mechs were made specifically for them so they could power their non-human side and destroy the source of the monsters themselves.
Likewise the faction of the United Nations: S.E.R.V.E., who they were working for, were using the mechs and advanced tech they made to make themselves a higher power. This is because they discovered aliens in a nearby planet and realised these god like beings could take over Earth unless they make themselves a credible threat.
The monsters as it turns out are creatures from this alien planet sent to Earth consistently to test out whether Earth is a credible threat. This was caused by S.E.R.V.E.'s decision to send a drone to their planet to make themselves known amongst the aliens.
S.E.R.V.E.'s final plan was to blow up the whole city with the aliens' main armada there (caused by defeating all the monsters they sent out) to establish themselves as extremely powerful. The blast would be blocked by the massive dome surrounding the city which was set up under the excuse of preventing any aliens from leaving the city and attacking other places.
Eventually thanks to some sacrifices and help, the bomb was removed from the city but ended up in the aliens' main armada ship killing the heads of its military force. The story was meant to end on a bittersweet note as the aliens were defeated for then but the threat of them coming back was still looming.
