...hoppin' down the bunny trail...
Something tells me that I'm SO going to regret making this post...
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"It would be interesting if almost all of the sorcerers in the fortress were killed, and everyone made a new OC to play in the Floating Mountains Outpost...
That would be three things:
1. An epic troll move
2. Possibly interesting
3. But really really frustrating too. I put a lot of effort into my character, dang it!
Locking you up on radar since '09Just to be on the safe side, start planning back-up characters.
Okay, ideas, let's see... a fisherman who learned water magic and uses his fishing pole like a magic lasso. A farmer who fights with a pitchfork and uses plant magic. A bard who uses wind magic to cut people - with The Power of Rock.
Well, you're doing better than I am.
The only idea I've got is my initial concept of a character who uses "nature" (read: plant) magic. ^^;
Locking you up on radar since '09A miner with a pick ax and an affinity for earth magic and a pet canary. An ex-soldier who puts is sword and offensive magic to use. A glass blower who used fire magic in his craft and now uses it to fight bad guys. A dancer who used illusion magic as special effects for shows and as camouflage. An animal handler who uses sleep magic to knock out some guards and steal a griffon, becoming the Sorcerer's one man air force.
Urgh. I sort of put a lot of thought into this one >:{
Well. Let's see how this plays out; I'll think about a back up.
But: ;__;
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Well, we wouldn't even be thinking about this in the first place if it weren't for you and your peanut butter.
What?!
Parable was like: No peanut butter, you will all suffer!
And I went like: Look, I'll mail you peanut butter, crunchy peanut butter if that's what it takes; please don't kill us!
How is this even my fault?
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.It just seems more realistic that most of the sorcerers die. If there are some who can find a way to escape (teleport, shape shift and run away when the coast's clear), then I don't see why they can't join the survivors in the Floating Mountain outpost. If you take that route, it might help with character development as well; the old "why didn't I stand and fight like all my buddies" route. It's a tough road being one of a handful of survivors to such a slaughter; people will think you were just a coward.
Of course, I don't suggest everybody take this route. It's not intense if there isn't any real blood, you know? Maybe those who can't come up with someone new (and whose OCs have the means to escape) should take the coward's way out while everybody else dies like men.
...
Why are you even opining? Your character is tucked away safe and sound in the limbo of yet-to-appear.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Just to put it out there, I was inspired to do this game by the Battle of Fort Donelson, the Siege of Vicksburg, and the Siege of Petersburg. In case you want to see how the defenders there were able to handle themselves.
I don't know how yet, but I'm going to make this an actual place in the game, because that just sounds cool.

@Theodore:
You bring up a good point.
@Parable:
Those characters all sound awesome.
The province of Yetoapir?
And the Siege of Petersburg... that's the one where the sailors who mutinied aboard the Potemkin holed up in a tower and stopped the Red Army cold for a bit, right?
Locking you up on radar since '09I see what you did there....
Also, he didn't say Saint Petersburg :P

I'll be honest, I did that entirely by accident.
Clearly my back up character should be a perpetually cheerful ice magic wielding Sorceror who makes excruciating ice puns.
EDIT:
Oh? Bugger.

Locking you up on radar since '09I wish I had a nickel for every time someone mixed those two up.
Well, that's what you get when someone doesn't bother to look up the event(s) in question due to sheer laziness.
I imagine you'd be a very rich man indeed.
Locking you up on radar since '09though my character hasn't been approved (or rather fully created) my backup is a firespewing dragon knight who can raise the oceans, make tornadoes and create volcanoes/fissures in the ground. He can also walk through walls, turn invisible, fly and can't be killed.
Lest I forget he sports a G 36 C and a PSG.
Oh and he has lived even before the creation of time. He can also travel through time.
Man is the pinnacle of creation. Boy, what a fool that creation guy turned out to be.But can he learn more than four moves in a Pokemon game?

Please, let's not go overboard here. Are you trying to push Hammas into God-Mode Sue territory?
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Darn I forgot Pokemon. Oh well I don't see a problem with the guy. He's perfectly innocently weak.
Also I hope we won't have to face Grant as well? I don't like the idea of this being based on 3 of his successfull campaigns because it really doesn't bode all that well :p
Do you by any chance just want everyone to die horrible gruesome deaths?
