...So, I just read the first post in the discussion thread, and I've already got a question, though it's not about the story. You see, you start out the RP out with the characters already brought together, but I was hoping that we could actually start a bit before that. Namely, when the characters actually arrive at the location of the meeting. This way, they can get to know each other before things get going, as well as scout out the environ and it's people a bit, to get an idea of just what they're getting themselves into. But, it seems that opportunity has already passed...

Me too, has question. Actually, I'm not very experienced in RP Gs (I probably should have mentioned that before, I'm very very sorry, I truly am...), I've only ever played with a couple of RL friends and I think we were all sort of noobs. Anyway, how much internal stuff are we adding? I've seen it done differently in various RP Gs I stalked. Some give their characters lots of internal monologue, some limit themselves to external actions only and include no thoughts at all.

Complicated - because simple is simply too simple. To address your concern: the reason why I started things at the point that I did was that I was trying to form a compromise between starting close to the action, while still allowing for some introductory stuff. In my experience, I've found that if the intro takes too long, people lose interest and the RP dies. As for the characters getting to know each other, there will be time for that between now and the proper start of the first investigation. If you think that it is in character for Raymond to have scouted the place out, mention so in the RP. He can say it out loud, or it can be part of the narration. Either way works. I can say that you didn't find anything out of the ordinary. Mr. Williams doesn't have a lot of secrets.
And, as for your question, either way works. Just as long as the internal monologue doesn't interfere with the story, all is well.

Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Well... okay. I guess I'll just have to try it that way.

Right-ho. So I dared to dip my toes in first. Let's have a fun game, everyone, and don't hesitate to tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I'll try to mend my ways. Everyone's gotta be a noob at some point, right?

Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Wouldn't it be nice to know what time-zones everyone is from and when they are likely to be online? Because me, for one, I've got a month-long break from Uni at the moment (in between semesters) and I can come out to play at pretty much any time...only, my day/night rhythm tends to get really messed up during such breaks, I also go to random cafes to draw/write at pretty much every time of day. Can't do anything about my paying work-schedule, but everything else is very fluent with me, so I could arrange for being home and online when most of you guys are, rather than sleeping/drawing through it. Unless I'm meeting up with friends. Though, who am I kidding?
Anyway, basic idea - determine overlap that is conventient to most of us?

Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.I wouldn't worry about it too much. For the most part forum RPs run on the assumption that things are going to be a bit slow, as even with a group this size we have a large variety of time zones. For example, I'm on the west coast of the United States, so I'm eight hours behind GMT. Eternal Noob on the other hand, is in the Philippines, eight hours ahead of GMT. And that's just two of us.
However, if you want to try, I'm usually most active between 5:00pm and midnight my time, so 1:00am and 8:00am GMT.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Nah, I'm not worried. I just figured it might be useful knowing that sort of thing (Also, because I'm the sort of person who checks threads every five minutes...meh. I need to get a life.)
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.I'm on EST currently, GMT -5. I'm also on break, though, so my most active times will probably be between... oh, let's say 1AM to 6AM GMT, or 8PM-1AM EST.
Anyway, I don't have time to make an intro post just now, but I will as soon as I get back.
It's been fun.Woohoo, it begins!
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked.Quite the entrance there. If there's such a thing as unfashionably late, that's a prime example.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Looks like the prologue is all over. Chapter one will start tomorrow after everyone has had a chance to post, and I've had a chance to sleep. I'd prefer to make sure that any big posts are completely coherent.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I wonder if the characters will take potshots at the flamobyant attire he wears...

Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Sort of, yes.
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked. If you guys want to do a quick, cursory exploration of the house, just say so. You won't get much in-depth information, but I will give you a rough floor plan with some basic information about each room.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Yeah, sure.
I'm all for it.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, but the forum I used to go on just got rid of the rp subforum and I was kinda in a state of shock.
Hui, floor-plans are up. Point of curiosity, the bedrooms are completely empty?
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.I have to say, I don't like the look of that basement... that's a lot of empty space, and as a gamer, I'm used to looking at big empty rooms with at least mild suspicion.
It's been fun.Sorry, the bedrooms have old beds in them. Incredibly dusty. A few other things, but nothing really jumps out.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Ack. Right. I think we have a culture clash here already. Over here, lots of students use prepaid mobiles, so we don't usually go roaming via cellular data because it will deplete our credit within a couple searches on google. It's not usually done like that in the US, is it?

This is the discussion thread for The Seekers. As such, it is the place for any out of character conversation related to The Seekers. If I was unclear about something, bring it up here. If something in the RP doesn't add up, and you aren't sure if it's a plot point or a mistake on my part, bring it up here. If my writing is less than engaging or the new NPC is a pain in the ass, also bring that up here.
One more thing to bring up here: I don't have any sort of "level up" system in place, but characters will gain new powers as well as learn new ones as time goes by. If there is a certain power that you wish to learn or improve, mention it in this thread beforehand, and I will subtly tweak things so that it makes sense for you to learn that power from a plot perspective. It won't be instant, and there will be tons of limitations on powers during Book One, but there is plenty of room for growth.
Finally, I will maintain a database of both powers (playable and otherwise) and important NPCs in this thread as you encounter them. They'll be in separate posts for ease of linking.
