That's partially why I suggested Pokemon Tabletop. They have a battle system and the like which we could probably adapt.
@Age Technically they're only stated to start at 10 in the anime. The protaganists of Black and White are in their early to mid teens. Though in most cases the age isn't even stated. Red was 11 I remember...Basically I think any age would be logical. Partially so we don't have to all find characters around 10 to teenage.

To Be Updated when I'm not LazyI don't think we would need to worry about game mechanics like critical hits. At most, you'd probably use levels as a rough guideline for what attacks you'd know.
I ask because two of me character choices are already grown adults.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!I figure your character can be any age, as long as he's starting in his journey to be a Pokemon trainer.
So, let's work on this piece by piece. Before we work out the plot or the characters, we need a world. First, is everyone OK if we just use "pokemon X attempts to attack, pokemon Y defends/dodges/gets hit" for battles, with levels dictating how strong your attacks are and how many moves you have?

Works for me on both counts, especially since tabletop rules probably wouldn't work well for this.
...Well, also because the Pokemon Tabletop game isn't very well written, unless they've really overhauled it since I last had a look at it.
Interested. Um, I'm not entirely sure who I'll use, but I'll try to come up with something.
Doing combat that way seems to make the most sense.
Also, just wondering, will the characters' starting pokemon be actual starter pokemon or are we just choosing one non-broken pokemon to begin with?
Burn up, hurricane of justice!I'm good with that, Strat.
Should we or should we not include Egg Moves though?
To Be Updated when I'm not Lazy...Hard to say. On the one hand, variety, on the other... I think a lot of egg moves would be horribly unfair at the start.
Interested, though I'm still thinking abouth which character to use.
Maybe I'll use MERASMUS!, but I can't think of any Pokémon for him...
From the way I see it, Egg Moves seem too unfair... so I'm gonna say no.
Now, as for what Pokémon you start it, I'll say non-broken ones. But I'll have to consult the resident Pokemon expert. -ring a ding ding- Moe? Will you share your poké-wisdom (get ready for a lot of these, folks) with me?
Three questions in mind.
- What sort of villain team will be facing?
- Who will be the Gym Leaders?
- Can Pokemon talk in this RPG?
Uh... I think basically no psuedo-legendaries and nothing too cheesy, really. As long as everyone uses a little common sense, there shouldn't have to be too much monitoring the starters. Hopefully.
Hey I'm a Poke-expert too!
-is honestly sort of hurt-
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyThen non-broken ones it is.

@Fusion: Sowwy, it's just that Moe offered her help a while ago and I hovered towards her in instinct.
Oh, yeah, before we move on, I will need co-G Ms considering my inexperience with the Poké-world. Moe has already offered her help, but I want at least two co-G Ms... so... anybody wants to step forward? Fusion?
I'd offer, but it seems you have two lined up already.
Also, on second thoughts, I think Roxas would be a better choice to use. Yuuka would be the unbeatable champion, after all.
Well...I have a bit of experience with Pokémon, so I could help out in that matter...
-raises hand and starts chanting me like an annoying six-year old-
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyProbably not me. I botched up a bit with my own Pokemon RPG. If anything, I can be some sort of viable information guy, but don't bank everything on me.
I'm more than fine with sub-G Ming.
I mean I'd probably look over every team anyway and give constructive criticism.
Ah yes I was thinking the Pokemon's ability should be included in sign-ups. You like that idea, Strat?
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyI quit playing Pokemon after RSE, but my knowledge, limited as it is, is at your disposal, Strat.
@Age: Limiting people to 10-year-olds is stupid IMHO, as it kinda makes most characters unavailable. 'Sides, letting 10-year-olds wander around...
@Starters: Basically, what Moe said. Nothing seriously OP, the rest is free game sounds perfectly fine to me.
@Battle system: Seems good enough for me.
@Abilities: Are we allowed Dream World (Hidden) abilities?
Yeah. Because this◊ is surely ten.
Well, Fusion, you can be one of the co-G Ms... now all I need to see is if Moe wants to be the second co-GM.
Oh, um... Sure! I did GM a Pokemon RP a while back, even if it fell into complete disaster, but, uh... I'll try my best. >.<
I'm as knowledgeable about the pokeymanz as anyone else you're likely to find, and I'm more than willing to assist. Not in a GM capacity, though; my games are cursed or something. Also I'm not playing anything for a while.

Oh GODS, I hate contests!! DX I am SO glad Gen 5 scrapped those.
But what about people he want to enter the RP as grown adults?
