I don't even do drugs and I know that would be too much, even for me.
Watch SymphogearCrack is Cheaper is a trope for a reason.
And I'm sorry but Asura's Wrath DLC is an example of bad DLC. By giving you a cliff hanger and then DLC for the "True" ending is just despicable to me, since it gets the player all worked up and then "Whats that? You want the ending? Pay up first"
It's not bad. It's worth every penny, and the best spent DLC I've ever paid for.
Really, it is.
Watch SymphogearQuality is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is its made on a cliffhanger to get even more money out of the user when they already spent their money.
I mean imagine watching The Two Towers and just before the battle of Helms Deep, they stop the movie and tell everyone to pay 10 bucks before they can watch that fight.
please insert credits to continue watching movie
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEEYeah, Thorn's right. Asura's Wrath could be the best game ever made and that'd still be a dick move.
Movies and games are different.
Thing is, In asura's wrath, the main conflict was already over with. Part IV Nirvana is just an Extra OVA type thing.
It's just like how Blood C and Persona 4 The Animation were finished.

Watch Symphogearit's like at the end of Ocarina of Time and you're just about to fight Ganon, and then all of the sudden the screen flashes "PLEASE INSERT A DOLLAR PLEASE <3"
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEESo wait, movies and games are different, but it's okay to compare anime and games?
Um, No.
The main villain that was very convincing final boss is defeated.
The True Final Boss was never shown that way until the last minute.
Persona4 could of easily done the same with Izanami, and they did just that with anime adaptation.
Asuras Wrath IS an interactive anime, which is why this analogy sticks.

Watch SymphogearWasn't part of it that the Xbox disc was full and they couldn't put the extra content on the PS 3 disc without Microsoft throwing a fit?
Not Three Laws compliant. That can be part of the reason as well.
There was only 5 MB on that Games hard disk left anyhow.
Watch Symphogear
Didn't you just say movies and games are different, and now you're calling it interactive anime? So which is it?
Also I'm fairly certain there is a cliff hanger when you get the "normal" ending or something.
CD Projekt added content for free that wasn't on disk.

I did. Except Asura's wrath is an anime if it were made with video game parts and a game engine.
Watch SymphogearAh, so it's a movie where you occasionally press buttons. Which would make the movie comparison completely valid.
Which makes the comparison of "Video Games are not Movies" pretty weak when AW is more movie than game at times.
In any case. It really feels like the industry knows its on some shaky ground and is doing ANYTHING to squeeze money out.
A crash, or at least a huge schism, seems just about the horizon. Developers are closing studios left and right, THQ down, EA pulling off this stuff, more and more forced multiplayer, hostility toward consumers, its all going downhill.
I recall doing the last chapter a 2nd time and it ending with a cliffhanger without the DLC, some hidden chapter or something.

The normal ending just implies that there's something weird about the spider that pops up occasionally. The plot is complete, the enemies are defeated and the DLC covers the cause of the entire system.
Not Three Laws compliant.I had an idea. What if there was a home console game that worked like an arcade game? Where you had to put in digital money instead of tokens/quarters?
please no
do you work at EA or something
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEEIf it's like one of those gumball machines you can buy where you just get the money out yourself later, maybe. Otherwise it's an awful idea.
EDIT: Oh, you said digital money. I like my idea better.

Not Three Laws compliant.Wait, you people are honestly surprised and in denial about game companies creating ridiculous software to sell to addicts? Have you never heard of Jolt Online Gaming? What about its parent company?

Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackJust because something exists in quantity, doesn't make it right. DLC in most forms is just like makers making a car but intentionally missing a left or right headlight, and they felt entitled to charge you for it. Or it's like the makers sell soda dispensers which have missing nozzles and they felt entitled to charge you for them so that you can dispense other flavors of softdrinks.
No matter how much they do this, and no matter what the company, it still isn't right. And I every bit disagree with creators rushing things here because apparently, if artists have no right over their declaration of completion of their works, then no one else rightfully does. When I am a game maker, I expect to answer to myself and my own wallet, not corporate regulations and market deadlines. I do not want to bear making a car that's intentionally having a vacant backseat or missing headlight.
Same as usual.... Wing it.
"Hey, you want some MADDEN? I got some, but you'll have to pay me 40 bucks a joint."
