Some states do like California's Paid Family Leave act but as a nation nope.

Yeah. In a perfect society, the answer to that question would be, "What a stupid question. Men who want to reproduce are going to need to schedule their paternity leave too. Why should women be any different?"

But we don't live in a perfect society, and part of the reason we don't is because questions like that are used as an excuse to justify disproportionate hiring practices and unequal pay.

Could someone confirm that in dating sites, women take down-the-shirt camera shots to display their breasts, pose in exaggerated 'sexy' fashions, and even use photoshop to alter the appearance of their bodies?

That is kinda obvious, but I'd say it is mostly common in hook up dating sites focused on casual sex.

That sounds a bit like generalising to be honest. appears to be where it happens most to be honest. Or imgur.

Huh, I didn't know that the definition of rape there was so narrow. Then again I was a child for all the time I lived there and a different standard applies in these cases.

The only two contestants for being the next British PM (via being the leader of the Conservative party) are women, so the next UK PM is guaranteed to be a women.

Why do I not feel like celebrating? Seriously, both are likely to try turning the clock back to the 50s in too many areas for comfort. -_-

Judge sets aside rape charges for probation so ex-athlete can enjoy ‘a college experience’

Ah yes, the college experience: Where he'll probably rape more women.

This is after raping multiple women.

God I hate judges.

Wanna bet on the judge did the same thing or was part of a frat that did similar things?

I'm not fond of playing devil's advocate here, but unless you have definite proof that he committed any other rapes than the two he was charged for (both of which took place the same day, at the same location), this is a first incident, not the work of a serial rapist. Rumors, especially those spread by teenagers, should not be taken as fact.

If anything, this says more about how some people - like the judge - believe in the value of a college education. The express intent of the lenient (and I do agree they are still somewhat too lenient, even given the above) terms of probation was to allow him to attend the one of his choice. (Except the college shot that down.) And if he'd gone on the sex offender registry, he honestly wouldn't ever be able to attend any college or hold any real job, so...yeah.

The pendulum swings too far one way, too far the other way...you get the idea.

To the credit of the college, he's not going to be accepted there.

Still, this year certainly has had one too many cases of athletic types getting away scot-free for things most of us here would have our lives ruined for.
