What, you can only be arrested right in the middle of a crime even if you're an internationally known criminal? That's retarded.

So a woman convicted of some random stupid 'crime' in say the Middle East can not enter another country because she was convicted of some sexist 'crime' in another country? Yeah.... No. These things are usually done on a case by case basis.

"Psssh. Even if you could catch a miracle on a picture any person would probably delete it to make space for more porn." - AszurIt differs between countries, but you can't always be arrested for a crime you commit in a different country. It may depend on your own nationality (for either perp or victim).
Check out my fanfiction! Obviously she wouldn't be arrested if she's staying in a country where it isn't a crime.
She would only be arrested if it was a crime in both countries.

@ Tobias: And no, we're saying that his seminars are enough to incriminate him for inciting violence and he should be let in and then arrest him when his seminars start.
While it won't surprise me in the slightest there is not much evidence that he actually has raped (yet). At the very least no victims have come out (yet).
I'd say put two policemen at the back of the seminar and let him talk. Either he undermines himself by dialling it back to avoid arrest, or he gets arrested.
In good news, Ched Evans won't be allowed to use Sheffield United's training grounds anymore.[1] I think the combined weight of an Olympic athlete, 165,000 people and one of their shirt sponsors all going "What the fuck are you doing?" got the message though to them that rehiring him would be a bad idea. And if they're not gonna take him back there's no reason to let him use their facilities.
Though this bit disturbs me
They indicated they were seriously considering re-hiring a unrepentant, convicted rapist, who hadn't even finished his time. The reaction was totally possible to anticipate.

Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Apparently, he's 'unrepentant' because he's been claiming all along that he's not guilty. I'm not familiar with the case - is this plausible, or did he get caught with his trousers down next to a very upset-looking woman and go 'I didn't do it'?

What's precedent ever done for us?The victim was deemed to drunk to consent, so I don't think his insistence of not having done it is an insistence of not having had sex with her.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranThis reminds me of the case where that woman spent months in jail after stabbing a guy when a gang of people were trying to kill her and stabbed her in the chest.
EDIT: Found it.
The justice system is unfair.

I'm not sure how the justice system has failed here... he was convinced and sentenced, the fact that he will spend the last bit of his sentence out on licence isn't a bug of the system, it's a feature.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranYeah, quick skim says 'totally innocent' wasn't an option given the facts available and what the defendants admitted. Odd that the other guy got acquitted, though.
What's precedent ever done for us?Oh, I assumed he was a serious threat, but I guess it's under control if he's being watched by the authorities closely and not moving around freely.
He's basically on parole right now. That's fairly standard.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickStandard, yes, but I can't help but feel that when the purpose of a prison system is to remove dangerous elements from the population, putting an unrepentant rapist back into the population runs rather contrary to the concept.

Oh really when?Even if your going by the thought train that pirsions should be to reform, which I abide by....
Releasing when un-repentant is ALSO counter productive.
Women pay about $1300 more a year for the exact same products as men.
I don't buy a lot of hygiene products geared towards women because they honestly don't work as well as the guy's stuff. In fact, going down my basic checklist, nothing I have except makeup is "women's". It's either gender neutral like basic shampoo and soap or men's. And it honestly is a lot cheaper for the men's and it normally comes in larger quantities as well.

But seriously 1300+ does sound excesive. Makes me htink just how much my sister spends since she loves all that scented crap on every single thing forever and ever.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesPersonally, I buy MANLY shampoo. It's like women's shampoo, but MANLY. They make it MANLY by putting it through a special chemical process designed to increase its MANLINESS. This processed consists of putting the words "For Men" on the bottle and coloring the bottle a dull, lifeless gray. MANLY gray!
Now if only it didn't come out of the bottle looking like milky-white spooge. Women's shampoo looks so pretty and doesn't resemble things I don't want to put in my hair.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I exclusively use women's shampoo because I like my long flowing hair to be nice and beautiful and healthy.
Manly stuff for everything else though, it smells nicer.
Oh really when?Razors are for wimps, I shave with a letter opened.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranMy advice in general on shaving: Get a plain, single-bladed safety razor. They work better and the blades last longer than multi-bladed cartridge razors.
While still on the subject of womens body perceptions, I am crossposting this form the mens issues thread.
Jessica Rey a designer of a line of swimsuits exposes her idea that spurred the creation of swimsuits that contend with the idea that they have to expose so much skin.
In her exposition she mentions a study that points out men have a difficulty in seeing women as people when they wear few clothes.
