A new RP Idea I have been thinking of for a while now.
Its been extensively planned and world built, with the basis being, as one could tell by the title, the universe that I have been putting my energy into crafting.
However, nothing that you'll find in here will require reading obscure language, nor will extensive canon research be required.
All the information you will need will be posted either here or on the discussion page.
The Scenario: Early 2016, we find that a strange type of sphere has been found underground in several large mountains, most tests showing that the "rocks" are made of hitherto unknown material. However, the materials were never attached any sort of net worth, nor were they really studied in depth.
Yet more of the rocks seem to be cropping up in increasingly odd places, and that was when it started happening.
It started with an explosion in New York City, and then an astonishing force making itself known. A single man, walking through the streets, cars diverting from his path, outside their control. The destruction resulted in damage in the equivalent of almost 1.5 million dollars.
This single man seemingly levitated one stationary car, and then threw it through a small business, and then threw almost fifty bullets flying his way back at the police who had shot them. Almost mercifully, at this, the man left the area. The only thing for sure most people could remember about him due to his outfit of a trench coat and a concealing hat was a sparkling stone held around his neck by a necklace.
The very same stone that had been so quickly dismissed. It seemed that after this event, dubbed Red Tuesday, even more incidents cropped up, people connected in some way to these unusual stones developing strange, unearthly abilities one could only describe as magic.
Some chose to use their "gift" to help their neighbors, others became villains out to make a quick buck. Yes, it seemed an entire new, strange world had been opened up to the regular man. Physicists recorded a strange new energy seeming to course through almost everything that, perhaps more perplexingly, responded to human thought.
In the wake of a gang of the magic using criminals forming, the US government and some elements of the UN formed a secret squad of people who have established a connection to the new world of magic, training them to handle combat with their adversaries.
So, yeah, that's it. You'll be playing one of the team, whose name has not been selected yet even in universe, and dealing with some very serious threats.
There will be a militaristic feel to this, but meshed with a modern fantasy atmosphere.
