Yeah, the mecha is the worst. And I hate even the usual quality level of them.

But the Crows and most of the boss monsters are gorgeous.

P.S. It is actually the first Sentai I'm going to be watching grin

I love the mecha. Its ridiculous, but the show is ridiculous. So I can forgive a ridiculous mecha.

So, I just typed in Zyuranger into the Youtube search just for Shits and Giggles (which is the best reason to type in anything) and to my surprise, someone has posted the whole series.

As the Sentai series that M Ighty Morphin Power Rangers was originally based on, I felt suddenly obligated to watch it.

Man, it's nutty. Kid Astronauts? What the fuck?!

Bandora is as hammy as they say. This woman needs some cheese and wine to go with it.tongue

That part where the beach puppets punch the other Zyurangers in the face got a chuckle out of me.

Well, I think I may actually watch the whole damn thing.

I've already seen pretty much all of Magiranger, so this will be my second full Sentai series.

Wish Rob luck.cool

Finished Zyuranger:

Bandora has a damned catchy theme.

Now I'm watching Dairanger, and just in team for Megaforce to be apparently using the suits for the first time ever.

That's kinda funny.

I'd also personally recommend Kakuranger. Its a friggin crime they didnt get more screentime in America given what a hilarious joy they are to watch.

Agreed. The Kakurangers are one of my favorite Sentai teams. Plus, the theme song. My God, the theme song is awesome.

So I've been watchin' Gokaiger and I can't help but draw parallels to One Piece.

A reckless leader who is focused on finding one particular treasure.

A cold swordsman who can wield more than two swords at once.

A once poor girl who's obsessed with money and is a navigator (of sorts).

And a cook/housecleaner that provides some comic relief.

Can't forget Ahim & Vivi's parallels as well.

I imagine the parallels were at least somewhat intentional.

After all, keep in mind, One Piece is a goddamn cultural icon in japan.

Prime: TBH I'm not that far into either Gokaiger or One Piece. If you could come up with their respective counterparts then that would be just peachy.

[up]Yeah I have a feelin' that was part of the appeal.

It's one part intentional references, one part "One Piece is the definition of pirates in Japan."

Well, Toei does make both the Super Sentai franchise and the One Piece anime. It'd make sense for Marvelous and his crew to reference Luffy and the Straw Hats.

Enjoying the addition of Bosco & Gai as well?

Also, cracking up at Episode 36 with the whole Evil Versus Evil. When the entire motivation for it is simply being pissed off the heroes aren't interrupting THEIR plans like they do yours, I can't help but laugh.

So, I went through all we currently have of ToQger in one sitting the other day, and all I have to say is:

CHOO-CHOO! ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN!

The opening by itself is hype as all get-out, especially the full version. It's a damn crime they confined the soaring violins to the second half of the song. I really hope they use the whole thing at some point.

So I was just reading a bit about Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger. All I know is this toy is either going to be severely edited for that to not work much at all(it might only be a chest blaster or not flexible at all). Never mind they're going to clearly remove that position for the adaption too, if they adapt it, anyway.

Also, an official Orange Ranger. About time.

Actually the toys transformation is consistent with the shows transformation. >.>

The saving grace is that the toy doesn't lock in that state.

Irene Since: Aug, 2012

I read about the toy and posted this before I knew it was in the show. XD

That said, I expect it either to be adapted out, them to skip this season, or for this to be a Nick-At-Nite type season. As in more geared towards adults instead. Like a side season of sorts.

Adannor Since: May, 2010
#50: Mar 27th 2014 at 2:53:42 PM

It's just one little partial untransform in one episode. It's like thirty seconds of screentime to skip the whole deal.
