So, we confirm that Cassians have 'Explosive Resistance' as their passive and Chua have 'Global Laughter' .
Welp. I know what I'm playing.
One insane pink weasel Chua on one side, and a fuzzy, fluffy, potentially rabid Aurin on the other.
'Potentially'? I'd say 'definitely' and consider it part of their appeal, just like the humans' inbreeding .
On the one hand, it's a bit annoying that of the four interesting looking races, three are evil.
On the other hand, it's so cartoonishly ridiculous, I guess I'm going to have to be a Draken, a Chua and a Mechari.
Eh, maybe a Mordesh too.
Dominion 4 lyfe brah.
I'd much rather be on the side of refinement over those space hillbillies.
Bleye knows Sabers.Even though they constantly state this game will be like World Of Warcraft, I still want to play it.
I like MM Os too much.
For me it'll be a new experience anyway, since I've never played a polished, 'professional' MMO - only MMO I've ever played was a rubbish, pay to win browser based thing with clunky HUD, no plot or character customization, and repetitive graphics.
I've also played Spiral Knights, which was pretty good.
Tera, SWTOR, Aion and Rift are the prominent 'professional' MM Os that started out subscription based and went free later on. There are other examples like DDO, LOTRO, Age of Conan and the Everquest duo but none of those received quite as much publicity. You might want to give one of those a try.
I hope Buy to Play becomes the next big thing.
I've always wondered how Buy to Play stacks up against subscriptions in terms of funding development. Even $60 a copy only pays for as much dev time/effort as four months of subscription (going by the World Of Warcraft sub) while still creating the expectation of constant updates beyond that time period. How sustainable is this especially when sales of new copies slow down between updates?
Thats what ingame stores are for, just offer $20 mounts and assorted other cosmetics and people seem to lap them up
Guild Wars 2 is buy to play and it seems to be doing pretty well for itself, Wildstar will probably have gambling boxes that ncsoft seems so fond of though I have doubts if that's the best way to go about it, hopefully Carbine is somewhat independent of Ncsoft trying to get them to squeeze every penny from a consumer.
A love that crushes like a mace.Wow, been a while on this thread, huh? They're about to reveal the last 2 classes, and they've talked about their pay model. It's a subscription, but you have to option to pay it with in-game cash. We'll see how it works, I suppose.
I was intrigued about the game, but the business model kinda killed some of that enthusiasm for me, I gotta admit. I'm not really one to go for P 2 P games. And something in the back of mind thinks that the ingame currency cost for buying C.R.E.D.D. on the CX would just increase greatly as time goes on, what with other players setting the prices.
Hopefully once it's out, after a while it'll go the F 2 P route, like TERA before it.

When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefWell, you can purchase CREDD from Wildstar themselves for $20 a pop, instead of trying to earn it in game. Since the devs are intending CREDD to be an in-game alternative to actually paying real money, I'm assuming that they'll either try to adjust the real-money price of CREDD based on what players are trying to sell it for, or try to introduce more ways to make money in-game so that a player that plays regularly (as in, maybe playing a few days for a few hours out of the week) for a month can earn enough to buy CREDD in-game before their month is over.
Also, in order for players to really profit from selling CREDD, they would need (to try) to price it to a lower equivalent of the real-money price for it to appeal to the rest of the playerbase.
But I'm just speculating here based on what I've read on the main website. I get what the devs are trying to do (allow a "buy-to-play" model to exist alongside but separate from a subscription model), but I don't know how well it'd work out once the game is actually released, since player-based marketing is so different from game to game. They also don't seem to say if there's a way to earn CREDD in-game without purchasing it from Wildstar first, which would determine when we could start seeing players regularly sell CREDD once the game launches.
note
Two new classes announced: the Medic (DevSpeak video included in link) and the Engineer (page and more info coming soon).
Also, have a WildStar Flick about classes:

Loved that! What do you guys think, what class looks good to you? Personally, I'm leaning towards Esper or Engineer, but I'm an old COH Mastermind player, so I've got a weakness for summonables.
For me it will be either Spellslinger or Engineer, I prefer high ranged classes and classes with pets so if the engineer is ranged it will probally be him.
Close ranged, apparently.
mhh then it will depend on how well the pet aspect is worked in, however if the engineer is heavy armor AND a healer then my friend will play him for sure cause he always plays the tankiest healer class.

The Anti-Climax of the Stalker's Back Stab was something else.
The Engineer has been unveiled, rounding out our six classes!
They also released a new webcomic about the Engineer's robot buddies.
....I'm sold. I'm rolling an Engi.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!Can someone fill me in on what Wildstar exactly is? It's commercials have invaded every. single. youtube. video. That I try to watch. I am so far beyond sick and tired of the growling Australian wannabe in the voiceover that I spam refresh till I get a different advertisement.
So I want to know what majestic awe-inspiring god blessed gem encrusted endlessly harassing beauty is this game?
Not dead, just feeling like it.
Rocket Racoon?
