Justice Avengers: Jump City at Dusk

She-Hulk took a few steps back, and then ran right towards where Ursa would land, waiting for the right moment to leap over her as if the two were playing leapfrog, running over to right in front of the building where Red She-Hulk was currently in, signaling for her to jump down and do another team tag attack.

She-Hulk would be too distracted by her waiting for Red She-Hulk to notice Non barreling right towards her, crashing into her with something akin to a football tackle. Any followup attack, however, would be weakened by Pulsate absorbing his kinetic energy.

Speaking of Red She-Hulk, Ursa kicked her out into the street with both feet, nose crinkled in disgust. A disgust that was amplified by the glob of metal in her face, which she quickly evaporated with her heat vision, an indignant rage focused quickly on Copper Sunbird. "This "Earth" is truly a den of vermin!" She spat.

And, Majestic out of his immediate line of sight, Zod turned his attention to Starfire and Flash, one hand reaching for Flash's throat in the time it took Flash to notice him. "Now, what sort of creature are you?" He asked disdainfully.

Majestic, meanwhile, stuck his head inside the arcade, noticing some of his team mates were there, to his great agitation. He put his fingers in his mouth and whistled to get their attention, the glass rattling.

Hit in the face with a fistful of Non, She-Hulk couldn't help but groggily stand up, grabbing the confused Kryptonian by the back of his oddly black-colored clothes and hurling him into the nearest empty shop, immediately slapping herself in the forehead for breaking someone's storefront on purpose.

Even with Zod's hand suddenly grasping his neck with a strength that was enough to make him reconsider at least twenty of his quickly made plans, Flash continued to grin. "I'm the F-Flash. Fastest guy in the world." He held Zod's arms, winking. "Pleasure to meet ya." Remembering Max's lessons about motion and vibrations, the Flash's body began to move rapidly as he took the kinetic energy out of Zod's body, applying it on himself to make himself vibrate with enough strength to force the General to drop him.

Present

"I know nothing about "Jor-El", but I know who Zor-El was. Yeah everyone says I probably misheard "Sir Abel". He was my father he asked me to take care of "Kal-El", I just want to know if I am not alone, that I might have family out there." She said to the Kryptonians that probably wouldn't have trouble listening to her due to their super hearing.

Kara then ran dangerously close to the Kryptonians, of course it was a bad idea to get so close to super villains, but in her mind the idea of missing the chance to know was worse. It was impossible for her to explain it, but in her heart she felt that something important in her life was just missing.

Past/krypton

A long time ago in Krypton two beings made of light were seen having a heated discussion or as close as it would seem for energy beings. One of them was shining less than the other.

"Jor-El Are you completely sure? Kara, she is my only child. She has a whole life ahead she can’t just die. I can't just accept the idea of losing her forever and of her to just fade on this planet alone , that is just my worst nightmare.“ Zor-El said while having difficulty speaking.

"If you are wrong she would be forever an outcast; she would never know what is to belong, to be normal. I want her to be happy, to marry, have a family and be loved, not to play god in a world that isn't ours. She will never fit in.” Zor-El told Jor-El in a tone that mixed anger with disgust.

Jor-El simply confirmed his fears, while Zor-El reacted in horror.

“Jor-el it isn’t our place to interfere with humanity. What you are planning to do with your son is wrong!, they should be free to choose their own paths. There must be another way!” Zor-El told him with anger.Zor-el then turned around while he stared at Kara while she was babysitting a young Kal-El, he remained motionless watching them.

“But if we have to do this horrible thing, promise me your son will take care of her.” Zor-El concluded as he touched Jor-El in desperation before both kryptonians approached baby Kal-El at his crib.

“He is so cute!, Mr Jor-el thank you for letting me take care of him while you and my dad are working. I promise I will always be there for him whenever he feels sad or weary. I will always take care of my cousin from any danger and no matter how bad the situation he will forever have me on his side. I will love and protect my baby cousin and he will never be alone as long as I live.” Kara told both Jor-El and Zor-EL.

What are those two doing?!

From her shrouded vantage point atop a nearby building, Psylocke had been watching Kara and Ambush Bug repeatedly move to and from the three very clearly dangerous newcomers in black. Now that the blonde teenager was attempting yet another approach, Psylocke acted: the moment Kara ran past by a nearby alley, an invisible force would pull her into it and away from the fight, hopefully giving the teenager the idea to abandon whatever she was thinking and leave.

"We should be asking you that question," Starfire responded back to Zod. "What sort of creature are you?"

Starfire did put some distance between herself and Zod since Flash seemed to be doing his own thing to fight Zod, though she was ready to fire more starbolts just in case. She'd much rather have Flash out of the way though.

Copper Sunbird flew away from Ursa, feeling -once again- out of her league. She hadn't had much luck in battle lately, and that irritated her. Especially when Robbie seemed to be doing better. These people, they had to have a weakness, all they needed to do is figure out what! But how?

Then she noticed the blonde girl, the one hanging out with that Ambush Bug guy, again trying to speak to Zod and his men. Could she know something useful?

(Assuming Kara gets pushed by Psylocke into the alley:) Sunbird lands next to her, and says: "You! Who are you and what do you know about those people??"

Ambush Bug sighed, feeling extremely confused by Kara running away again. "I'm extremely tired, I'm probably still covered with sewer sludge and I've gotten beaten up by Deadpool. I have no idea what to do right now. I wish I was still in jail or something."

Peter nodded, clapped his hands together, and rubbed them as he looked around the arcade. “Good to hear, good to hear. Now, if the princess would just show up for the ball… There!” He pointed enthusiastically to the DDR machine, lurking in the back corner of the arcade.

Peter grabbed the railing and vaulted over on to the stage proper. He turned to face Katana with a grin. “Fair warning, I’ve out-danced guys with at least twice as many legs as me. Have your A-game ready to roll, is the gist.”

One Hour Later

Peter stumbled off the platform, an empty grin affixed to his face as he turned his head toward Katana. “Good. Good job. You dance like a pro.” He said, before all but limping towards a far wall.

He was outdanced by a monk. That was like getting outsung by Darth Vader. Decades of expertise, unraveled in an instant. And—

And is that person taking pictures goddammnit

Peter sat down on a chair, quietly folding into as dignified a fetal position as possible as flashing arrows and failure danced behind his eyes.

His melodramatic reverie was shaken by Majestic’s whistle, causing him to start and rub his ears. “Ow! Jesus, man, what the hell?” He said, giving Majestic a dirty look. “Is one of your powers being super inconsiderate? Some of us are having a crisis of faith.”

Katana stepped off the machine, still in a bit of a daze... well more like a trance brought on by the rhythm. She had not only won, it had been... fun? it was weird, she sensed that in a way she shouldn't had enjoyed that... but it had been a duel of skill in the end, and a good one at that. "that was a good duel you should be-" she attempted to say before majestic interjeted. Uncovering her own ears she saw him "oh, hello, majestic" she called over with a wave "what do you need?"

Red She-Hulk fell down to the Earth with a crash. "Ugh...The second crater I've made today..." She stood up and ran over to She-Hulk. "Is fighting bad guys always this annoying?"

"Heeey, Loga-OOF!" Deadpool looked down at Wolverine's claws. "Oh, Logan. You know how much I love having you inside me. That was pretty rude, man. What gives? Us Canadians need to stick together. We're like brothers in maple-syrup covered arms."

"Keep up the innuendos Wilson, and I'll stab neuter you like a back alley vet on a rabid poodle," Wolverine warned. "First of all, what the Hell are you doing in Jump City?"

"Katana kicks trenchcoat guy's ass at DDR. #Katana #Impulse #geeking out right now" ... and uploaded. This is gonna get so many upv- aah!

Kamala gasped and pressed the flaps of her hat against her ears as the glass-rattlingly piercing whistle filled the arcade, turning to see Majestic standing in the doorway. For the second time that day, her mouth dropped open in shock.

"Oh my god, you're Majestic!" She said gleefully, rushing forward a few steps. She'd been excited to even see two supers she recognised, but now three? Including one of the most powerful heroes in the city? This day could only get better if the Flash and Wonder Woman herself stopped in for triple-berry slushies.

Then she saw Majestic's expression, and she aborted her rush forwards. "... or I could just, uh. Stand over here. Out of your way." She finished quietly, side-stepping to one side and frowning to herself. The superhero looked... well, not very happy, that was for sure. Was something going down? She started to figure out how long it would take her to run to the store where her costume was stashed, her eyes darting between the other heroes.

"Well, the same thing I seem to always be doing lately. Much like your common 18-year-old from Tennesse that wants to be a singer but ultimately becomes a stripper, I've selling my body for the respect and love of others. Namely, in the form of kick as much ass as possible. I'm gonna join the Justice Avengers, and show 'em my skills. And what, pray tell, are you doing here, when you aren't getting a polished apple from your mutant students, or canoodling in bed with a teenage girl?"

Majestic looked at Katana, Impulse, and...whoever the third person was sternly, arms crossed over his chest, tapping one foot. He wasn't mad. Just disappointed. "People are in danger, and you are playing." He said disapprovingly. "Let's go!" He shouted, then made his way back to the action.

Non burst out of the storefront, a colander sitting on his head like a helmet before he crumpled it in his fists. He saw the two She-Hulks and howled with rage, beating his chest before launching himself at them like a rocket, producing what could be mathematically described as an obscene amount of kinetic energy.

Zod dropped Flash, letting out a cry of shock at the disturbing feeling of the atoms in his hand vibrating apart. He raised one brow in confusion before turning his eyes towards Starfire, sneering. "I am General Zod, of Krypton. And you, I presume, are a Tamaranean. I have not killed one of your kind in what feels like a century. And then, I could not do this." He launched himself into the air at her, both fists out.

Ursa spied Copper Sunbird making a move towards Kara, and was upon them in a burst of superhuman speed, a blur of black movement. She gave Copper Sunbird a bemused glance before attempting to swat her casually aside, her attention on Kara. "What do you know of Zor-..." She began, then stopped, her eyes drawn to Kara's Blue Kryptonite ring. "What is a primitive like you doing in possession of the symbol of the house of El??"

Peter blinked at that, before getting pointing up at that ceiling. “Or,” Peter said, before redirecting his fingers at Katana. “We could not do that and take this battle to Mortal Kombat. I feel good about my chances there. But I need to know if you’re the type of person that takes spine removal personally.”

Kara probably should have told her friend Ambush bug before running away, but she needed answers and she was tired of being idle until she got hit by an invisible wall that pushed her away.

"Ouch, what was that? Kara said as she tried to stand up. "Don't tell me they have psychic powers too because that would be too much even by our city standards" She thought to herself while she touched her head from the pain.

Suddenly it was when "Copper Sunbird" flew towards Kara. They probably would recognize her from High school even If Kara herself couldn't due to their transformation.

"Hello there you must be Justice Avengers don't you? My name is Kara and yeah this might be hard to believe, but I am risking my life because I think those villains might know something about my past and about someone I lost. I am sure this might sound nuts, but you have to let me speak to them." Kara replied to Copper Sunbird.

The Ursa got close Kara and asked her about the symbol of the house of el. "My father gave it to me, before he left me so I wouldn't forget him." she replied to Ursa.

When Kara was close to Ursa, the blue stone on her bracelet began to glow brightly as if it was reacting to her presence. If it worked the kryptonian would probably feel the effects of the Blue stone making her feel weaker even for a brief instant. Even if the stone didn't affect her, the heroic duo would probably notice the blue stone glowing and reacting to the kryptonian's presence.

Past/krypton

"My bracelet." Zor-el said as he watched the blue stone of his bracelet on his "arm". "On krypton it is a symbol of "victory" on earth it will be a symbol of my love to you".

The planet began to tremble as both of them felt an earthquake so strong it made both of them fall to the ground.

"Dad, what's going on? I am scared. Is uncle Jor-el right? Is this really the end?" young Kara told Zor-El while she hugged Zor-El on his “legs”.

Zor el looked sad as if he wanted to cry, it took him a few minutes before he could gather the strength to move. Zor-el moved his “hand” and pointed to the red sun above and said

"There will be a day our planet will be gone, the sky will burn, our mighty civilization will be nothing but a memory and even our sun Rao will be dust.” Zor-El then pointed towards the “S” symbol on his chest and said. “It’s ok to be scared Kara, I am scared too. But never let fear destroy you. That’s what our family symbol means, hope. There will always be a reason to fear , but never to despair for there are two things that will always live on even beyond our universe Hope and love”. Even If I die my love for you will live forever, never forget that Kara.

"what do you mean? I don't want you to die there must be another way!" Kara told her father.

"no" she said simply "Majestic's right, this was fun, but my duty is more important... I'll be glad to resume our battle later though... now" and she eyed Impulse before turning "we need to go" she sped off and said "apologies" to Majestic as she ran through the front door.

"Wait!" Kamala ran after Majestic and the other departing heroes, chewing own lip as her mind raced. Something really was going down. The JA West was mobilising, and now that she'd heard about it she knew she wasn't going to be able to just run home.

"What's going on? And where? I- I want to warn my mom - whoah!" She skidded to a halt again as she spotted the furrow in the bitumen where Majestic had landed, following the trail of destruction down the road. How the hell did we miss that?

"OK, never mind. Think I got it." She said, eyes wide as she took a few steps back and turned to run.

Peter’s face fell as Katana and some other girl ran off. He shifted to face Impulse. “Just you and me, then. Speaking from experience, what do you think the chances are of this place getting cratered? I could go for chow across town if you want.”

"I'd sliced off your limbs and rearrange them for them to heal just for that last thing you said, but there's those guys over there to deal with first," Wolverine said, pointing over to the Kryptonians. "Seriously though, no, just no! Probably the JA over in New York are able to handle your brand of wanton destructive lunacy, but not here! We don't need to babysit you on top of fifth dimensional imps, mutated gang bangers, and would be assassins from a freakin' supervillain boarding school! not to mention how craps usually escalates whenever you and me are within a five mile radius of each other!"

"Oh come on, Logan. You wound me so. I promise I'll be a good boy. I haven't killed anyone for money in like, 6 months. Sure, living in absolute squalor and having to steal food hasn't exactly been a tiptoe through the tulips, but you play the hand you're dealt. And I'm drawing some more cards. So this can happen one of two ways. We are either due for a Team-Up, or a bloody fight."

"Krypton?! You are from Krypton?!" Starfire just barely flew out of the way of Zod's fists, but the look on Starfire's face was one of flat out panic.

"You are Kryptonian?!" Starfire yelled in complete surprise at the thought... it was as if Zod said he just declared himself the Queen of England. The idea of a Kryptonian existing in the here and now, let alone three of them, was so unlikely as to be unbelievable to the fellow alien.

Pulsate felt himself becoming more powerful with every passing second as he continued draining Non of his kinetic energy. He ran around with super-speed, then as he saw the hairy man head for She-Hulk, he shouted "Hey, Big Guy! Is this yours?" and with that, he released back a portion of the energy in the form of a force-blast back at him.

Meanwhile, Sunbird was baffled by what the girl had told her. She realized she needed to keep her away from these villains, but the flying hussy caught up to them! Fortunately instead of attacking, she started questioning the curiously-familiar girl (where had she seen her before?) But then, Ursa appeared, moving faster than Sunbird had expected, and casually swatted the heroine aside; her costume barely protected her from the impact. As she laid on the street, she overheard the older woman question Kara. Then, something in the girl's body began flashing, and Ursa wavered, as if suddenly struck weak. Could it be...?

Sunbird extended a tendril of liquid metal: her goal was to take away Kara's bracelet, and test it against Ursa. (RPG, you decide if this works. Once free of the bracelet, she could finally discover her own powers.)
