Capcom bashing is that big of a thing around here? I'd hardly say 20 years is an embarrassing track record, especially for a video game series.
Anyways, I can't seem to find any official art, plenty of fan art though.
I don't think this change would require Image Pickin', unless you don't have an image suggestion.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCapcom didn't really celebrate his 25th anniversary, either (not a complaint, but a fact), so there isn't any better official art that I know of to commemorate the event. Better off sticking with the current, try again come his 30th.
Moon◊I think someone should at least cut out the background and leave the characters. That way, they would stay relevant even when other anniversaries come to pass.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I disagree with everything OP said. Including the warning.
Check out my fanfiction!if it's that big a deal, you could always search the net for other pics- fanmade if need be.
For example:
1: Deviant Art
2: Deviant Art, would work if the legs were clipped off at the bottom to remove the unsightly DA link (as disrespectful as that is.)
3: Some minor edits needed to remove the words.
4: A liiiiiiittle bit too busy.
So yeah. On the one hand, the current image is an official image. On the other hand, the fanarts I linked would need permission to use but are mostly comprised of official artwork of the characters anyway.

I'm still not convinced this needs replacing at all, but if we were to have to, UDON made (or is promoting) this piece◊.
Moon◊yeah I don't think it needs to be replaced either, but UDON is just as official as something from CAPCOM themselves. That would work.
I like the current one the most.
Check out my fanfiction! That would be a lot of work and not an improvement I don't think. It is fine.
Here are 7.3 and 8 also, tho:
I like the second more because the classic Blue Bomber version is front and center.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The second of those is the only one that I would say is a competitor against the current, and I prefer it to that one.
Agreed. My particular dislike of the current image is that the ORIGINAL Mega Man isn't front and center.
I feel that the current image is clearly superior to all of the suggestions, even if it is slightly out of date.
Similarly, I don't feel that the fact that the Blue Bomber isn't "front and centre" detracts from the current image - he may be the most iconic Mega Man, yes, but it doesn't impair the image in any meaningful way.
Locking you up on radar since '09Not disagreeing, just a small pet peeve. I really have no problem with the current image, but it doesn't hurt to explore other suggestions.
^^ "Clearly superior" huh? I don't think it's clear. I think the one in 8 (second image in 11) is better.
Current, btw:
(They are both very good, though.)

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I think the anniversary bit says more about the franchise.
Check out my fanfiction!Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
It seems a little... embarrassing... that the current page image represents the 20th anniversary when Mega Man is already on its 25th. Is there any official image out there that we can use to represent the franchise for its 25th?
My other suggestion is to cut out the background and leave the characters, so that it will be relevant throughout all time, at least until a new series with new protagonists shows up.
WARNING: I will call for this thread to be locked if it degenerates to Capcom bashing
