Open Book would be a very strange season finale. But then again, it's always the lighthearted episodes that turn out...scary...
Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating.I'm surprised.
Though I remember last December, Adventure Time and a few other shows got to air a new episode every day for a week, but Steven Universe wasn't one of them. Given the bad hiatuses the show's had to suffer, this feels well deserved.
Far as I can remember, it was just Adventure Time and Over the Garden Wall.
I'm definitely watching OTGW soon. It got brought to my attention when Doug Walker said he'd do vlogs on it (he should totally watch SU btw)

Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating. No, I'm pretty sure Clarence and Uncle Grandpa got it too. At least one of those.
The only problem I can see with new episodes airing one right after another is that when a Wham Episode happens, it's nice to have time to process it. Can you imagine if "Maximum Capacity" had aired the day after "On the Run"? That would've been too much to take.
Looking it up, it appears that's right. I don't watch Uncle Grandpa, but I'd expect myself to remember the Clarence thing.
One day is enough for me, honestly. I actually super-enjoyed watching Over the Garden Wall all in one sitting, even if that made discussions a lot less interesting.
Yeah, that's the other thing. Not as much opportunity for the fandom to bond over speculating.
Less speculation is good to me, if only because I usually find what's being speculated on to be stupid and not making sense in the context of what we know.
Surprised about the episode rush coming up, and simultaneously pumped as hell and feeling real Fear, especially for the two-parter. I better blacklist SU on tumblr for the meanwhile, the people I follow don't tag their spoilers and I have to wait for uploads...
According to Matt Burnett, "Jail Break" is the season 1b finale, while the other three episodes ("Full Disclosure" and two episodes that were at least at one point called "Open Book" and "Shirt Club") have been moved to be part of the second season.
However, the broadcast will apparently continue uninterrupted at least one episode into season two, so where the season begins and ends seems somewhat semantic... except possibly if you bought a season pass on Amazon, iTunes, etc. (though they'll probably just include whatever episodes 27-52 are regardless of what season that is).
That's apparently right:

The look on Connie's face when Steven spoils the series for her...
Lol, Garnet in a rare moment of laziness.
So... our first real conversation with Peridot, and we did learn a thing or two. One, the Moral Myopia is seriously strong with the Gems if she's any indication. Second, she has no idea who the Crystal Gems are whatsoever, and is more confused than anything that they're trying to stop her (which of course leads back to the Moral Myopia bit).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well, we can kind of see what Peridot's plan/mission is/was; eradicate the humans for the civilization of gemkind. I can also tell she's working for somebody...
"We be we baby!"Well, that was great! This is the first "important" episode that hasn't had any intensely dark moments, right? Close second is Mirror Gem.
I get the feeling that the most-talked-about subject will be the momentary look of confusion on Peridot's face. Also, you guys think Unfamiliar Familiar will be the book featured in that upcoming episode with Rose's Room?
Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating. Why do the gems even need Earth? They can survive in the vacuum of space, they can probably colonize any lifeless planet they want. Except for maybe the procreation part which may or may not require organic material. I guess that makes sense.
Some winning faces in this episode, not really quality so much as very stylized.
Poor Connie...Steven, for goodness sake, learn to read the covers or the first few pages to figure out where in the series you even are.
And, uh, Garnet was cute in this.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Note that Peridot says there are four Gems when Pearl, Amethyst and Garnet show up, and yet is unaware that Steven is one.
More evidence for the whole "Garnet is two Gems" theory.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.i have never heard Garnet sound so exasperated in this series.
"We can't fight these things forever! Well, we can, but I don't want to."
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.You sure? I heard Peridot saying "More gems?!" than four. She seemed more surprised about the fact that Gems actually inhabited the Earth rather than worried about the amount.
Don't listen to that guy! He's trying to lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down the path that rocks.Yeah, so I re-watched the episode, and listened to part that Wack'd brings up on headphones without looking at the video to focus on the words. No where in her conversation does she say ever say four. In fact when Garnet shows up, she is referred to as "a gem?" When the rest show up, she says more?, which I could see how it sounded like the number but yeah, not the evidence to the Garnet fusion theory, sorry.
Ah

All of space and time, everything that ever was and could have been... and there's still nothing on tvPeridot referred to the Gem tech as being simply archaic. Why the "Gem" qualifier there? Maybe she and her faction don't consider themselves Gems?

To distinct it from Earth tech probably?
Also after going through all 133 pages of this discussion I've finally caught up to this.
Really late asking this but did anyone get a Mother/Earthbound vibe from the episode Rose's Room when Steven gets into the messed up beach city?
From everyone using their background model to Connie and Onion and Greg and the music that started playing when the room started to vanish just screamed Mother to me.
So.. Peridot was gonna smoosh Steven. Kind of a dick move.
Forever liveblogging the Avengersanother funny moment: Connie's reaction when she found out Steven hasn't been reading the books in order. O__O
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. That might've been the funniest facial expression in the whole series, and the fact that it came from Connie makes it even funnier.
If would be like if Garnet suddenly did a wild take.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. But why would she need to clarify that distinction, especially when talking to herself? That tech was exactly what she came to Earth to find in the first place. If she had just stumbled upon it I might agree with you but she knew it was Gem tech. Actually calling it Gem tech with no obvious reason to require the distinction is a bit fishy.
Edit: Another odd thing is that when Peridot indicated that she hadn't heard of them she emphasized the word Gems, unlike Lapis who emphasized the word Crystal.

Oh, another possibility is that next week is going to be the season finale, while the other two episodes could have been moved back to season two.
