well at least Maki finally loosened up a bit.

Episode 11:

  • Gotta love it when this show does vaudevillian humor.
  • Kotori seems to have gotten a chance to study abroad. It would be interesting if she went ahead with it, but that's unlikely to happen.
  • I think they went a bit too far with Honoka overdoing things. It was okay until she went for a jog in the rain, even though she was coughing already. That crossed the line from mere headstrong to idiot.

Episode 12: Terrible. You're just terrible, Honoka. Did not appreciate the leap from "I messed up big time" to Hard Work Hardly Works. Otherwise a more than decent, drama-filled episode. Really liked seeing Nico snap at Honoka, given her background.

That was Umi, and I'm of the opposite opinion. I've been in Honoka's shoes before.

I misread your post as "slap Honoka". Ugh. X_X

Episode 13: Fantastic finale. Nothing unpredictable, but excellently woven.

  • I really liked how Those Three Girls played a part in snapping Honoka out of her funk. Which this whole episode is basically about.
  • My respect for Nico shot up considerably in this episode.
  • Excellent use of music, and the glorious return of Start Dash!
  • Has Muse really missed Love Live? If so, interesting.
  • Looks like A-Rise has Muse on their radar.
  • Random dude in the background gets teary-eyed. Heh.

[up]The "random dude" is Honoka's father.

Interestingly enough, it's the first in-show time we've seen the other half of a parental pair. Usually in this type of show, you only get to see the mom, and that's it, and indeed, in Kotori and Maki's case we only see their mothers.

We've seen Honoka's father before, but only from the back and he didn't have a speaking role that time either.

In any case, I should note that this show has sold over 22K blu-rays in 2 weeks, making it the season's top seller by far. Expected by anyone who keeps an eye on these things, of course, but confirmation is good.

Nice to hear. I'd gladly welcome a second season.

There's an OVA out now. It's a bit odd, but not anything extraordinary. Does show evidence of paying attention to the fandom, though

The "OVA" is actually the newest music video. Odd choice to have so much buildup to the song, though. I guess that will be a thing from now on.

[up] Just watched it.

It's beyond weird to have that much build-up. ._.

Really want a second season where they'll get to participate in Love Live for real.

So, the second season is starting soon. (Crunchyroll's streams start on Monday). Anyone else intend to follow this one again?

[up] I will, since I watched season 1. Plus it was done pretty well, so I'll be heading in with great expectations.

I'm still scratching my head as to what the story's supposed to be this time. I mean, they're pretty late in the school year (I think?), Love Live is over and probably doesn't run more than once per year, etc. Plus they've solved the whole school closing down thing.

I'll be checking it out. Partially just to see how they get out of the corner they wrote themselves into

The principal can always run away with all the money to start the plot.

I have a feeling that this season will end with the third years' graduation and/or the group becoming actual idols. If the latter doesn't happen, no season 3, ever (unless it starts with that).

Incidentally, did anyone else check out the manga? It was picked up by Comic Walker.

[up][up]If the principal runs away, she leaves her daughter Kotori behind too? What kind of morals is that?

Watched episode 1's raw out of impatience.

They decided to get out of the corner they wrote themselves into by suddenly having another Love Live. And Honoka (who's now the student body president) initially wants nothing to do with it.
