Here we are then. I'm not entirely sure when the game will start proper, but it shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks.

Something we should sort out is whether this game is going to be played the way the old one was, with each god having their own area and people and the game playing out somewhat like Civilization, or the gods being united as a pantheon and sharing responsibility for the world as a whole. Or possibly some combination of the two.

The other thing are any in-universe rules. The original had a set of rules that the gods were bound by (which were quickly forgotten...). These included things like having to agree on major changes, only being allowed to communicate with mortals through prophets, oracles and such, and mortals must have free will. Should something like that be reinstated?

Well, I know that only being able to communicate with mortals through prophets and stuff should be right out. Some gods are much more hands-on.

Arceus should prepare for a glomping considering who Madoka's voiced by. She shares the same actress who voiced Iris from Pokemon.

I think Theion would have an aneurysm if mortals were allowed free will and permission to attack the gods.

Quick rundown on why: way back when, the Primordials made the gods of Creation (the Incarnae—the Sun, the Moon, etc. are the ones who'd probably fit into the RP) and forbade them from attacking their creators. Simple enough. The gods wanted to play the Games of Divinity, so they made the Exalted with the help of Gaia and Autochthon (two Primordials, there). Now, in canon, the Exalted rebellion worked, Theion was turned into a prison for the surviving Primordials, the Neverborn (those that died) created the Underworld through their sheer existence because things like that were too big to dissolve or reincarnate.

-Deep breath-

Now, Gunstar Autochthonia? The Primordials won. Now, given that the Exalted were humans...

Also trying to work out how many Third Circle Souls he has. It's apparently 1 Fetich (Ligier, the Green Sun, I think—I guess they didn't so much kill Theion as simply mutilate him in canon, for Ligier to belong to Malfeas too) + Highest Virtue + Willpower. Now, given that he's the King of All Kings and, since this guy is the victor, unshakeable in his pride, it's safe to say he has the full 10 Willpower. That's at least 11. Most likely, he'd have a highest Virtue of Five (highest a Essence 5 character can have—I think the limit goes up beyond that, so he would be able to have at least 10, where the Essence rating caps out, I think) or above. So... 15-20 non-essential souls reflecting parts of his personality, Ligier, and himself. @_@

The Second Circle souls are unique but far more numerous because the Third Circle Souls can make as many as they like, if they have the time to do so, and the First Circle Souls are basically mooks. Immortal mooks that are part of Theion, but yeah.

I rambled a bit, didn't I? [lol]

I'm agreeing with Anno on the removing prophets thing. Now, that's not to say they shouldn't exist.

A pantheon seems fun, but can't we mix the two? Each God has their own areas, but major problems will happen to the world as one which makes them create a pantheon for more worldwide problems and additions. Like, let's suppose one of the gods decides to start a plague in their area, and the plague has a chance of spreading. The other gods reunite, decide what to do and then do it. And what if one of the gods shows up in the other gods' area, causing people to start worshipping him? I think there's a lot of possibility in the interactions between gods (rivalries, that kind of thing too) and the interaction between gods and their people.

As for the free will, but definitely a no-no on attack the gods. I mean, if any of them start having ideas, it'll be interesting to see the god go down and stomp his foot, but apart from that, don't see much coming from it. I haven't played Black And White, do they have free will there?

Suwako would actually like it if humans fought her.

As long as it wasn't the kind of fighting with malicious intent. Just fighting for fun! Mortals should have free will, though.

[up] So Suwako is that kind of hands-on goddess, eh?

I think when it comes to free will, it should be like some other Civilization-like games. I can only think of Tropico (because I, again, haven't played Black And White) and how you have to keep the citizens happy or else they'll start escaping off to America, and your choices influence how many militarists you have, etc etc. I may be on the wrong foot.

Theion cows normal people into submission just by being there. That he can quite casually be ten yards across and have a blazing, blinding aura over a mile in diameter... @_@

I wonder if I can think of someone less excessive? [lol]

[up]x5: Yeah, mortals have free will in Black And White. They can't really do anything to you other than convert to worshipping someone else and deny you much needed worship, but they never shut up about their problems.

[up][up]And yet in the games she hides in the depths of the shrine and lets Kanako do the work? (And I think that both of them only started interacting with their followers that way after they moved to Gensokyo)

[up]Might be a good idea, actually. I wasn't aware of the full extent of his prowess when I accepted him.

[up][up]Actually, Suwako routinely holds danmaku festivals and such. It's more that Kanako is a schemer, Suwako has no interest in scheming.

Honestly not sure if the Old Ones would actually work, even if they have been retconned to not be Sufficiently Advanced Aliens (something that will most like be retconned back by the next edition, honestly), they're... Really too vague and mysterious to really get a good grasp on, and they don't really seem to have much potential for meaningful interaction with anyone.

But that's just me, I guess.

Hm. Genuinely excited to play as Father, heh.

Haven't had this kind of excitement since pretty much anything I did in the other RP site... sigh.

Well, it depends, really. Would stuff be helped or hindered by someone willing to bash heads together to make sure things are built properly? It depends if everything tends to result in a cold war where all the gods are sequestered in tiny city-states and if that's desirable. Probably @_@

Theion woke far from his brethren, brushing against the infinitude of Time Not to gaze on the 10,000 kingdoms he might rule. The formless rebels of Chaos laughed at him, a foolish monster seeking a place that could house his impossible majesty, but they screeched in voiceless terror at what he did next. From all his would-be dominions, the Empyreal Chaos drew forth the skeleton of the universe and shattered it, fashioning it into the fiery tines of his crown, lighting the flame of his righteousness and forging a realm greater than any imagined by others.

All his flavour stuff is like this. It generally gives a sort of Noble Demon impression: so long as you don't fuck with his rule, he's a pretty nice guy. Otherwise he goes berserk. [lol]

Would it help if he brought only Ligier along (I still find it weird that he has the Green Sun before and after imprisonment as Malfeas)? The other Third Circle souls can just be recreated, but it takes years and huge amounts of Essence, so he'd at least be less happy about spamming Charms and stuff.

Hmm... but who else could I pick...

Suwako likes the sun! And the moon.

... Suwako likes a lot of things, actually, but especially frogs.
