I'm an FSU fan(same state and conference) close enough?
Seriously though, I'm betting you want to talk about the penalties the NCAA is about to hand down to Miami tomorrow. The self-imposed ones Miami has taken on are pretty harsh, but from what I understand, the charges the NCAA have leveled at Miami are about the worst that they could have possibly come up with(something doing with lack of institutional control, I believe), which is pretty bad for Miami. With the NCAA under fire due to many high-profile programs flagrantly violating rules over the last several years(and/or not noticing things that should have been blindingly obvious, like Nevan Shapirio), I give it about a 50/50 chance the NCAA decides that what Miami has self-imposed isn't harsh enough and throws the book at them, which would be a damn shame since I believe that Miami did the right thing when they figured out the problem, and didn't wait for the rules committee to impose punishments(though I am cynical enough to realize Miami also figured that if they imposed some pretty harsh punishments NOW, by the time the NCAA got around to making a ruling, there was a good chance they'd accept Miami's penalties rather than hitting them with the Hammer of Thor)
Discuss?
Ok, double post, but anyone else hyped for the renewal of mthe FSU-Miami rivalry this weekend? Though I say renewal, it's just gonna be business as usual due to FSU being the flat-out better team, so I don't expect Miami t9o win this. At all.
Didn't see the game, but saw this play on the highlight reels yesterday. Just...wow. Seems to be an issue in both CFB and NFL games this year. You do not tip the Hail Mary up. You bat it down.
I was thinking the same thing.
never tip it up in the hopes that someone can intercept it
Batting it down ensures that the WR won't get it. Sure, they could throw it again and complete it, but why allow the slight chance of it being caught in 1 attempt exist?

Well, given the way FSU is playing, I've decided I won't post in this thread again until we see some actual competition. So, See you at the BCS title game!
, That wasn't really a tip, though. #28 from Georgia would have had the ball in his hands for an interception if #25 hadn't run into him trying to catch it himself; the impact caused his stuck-in hand to come up and knock the ball upward. I lay the blame for that squarely on #25 for not paying attention to his teammate and letting him have the chance at the catch...not that I'm complaining as I was rooting for Auburn.
HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
I was telling my brother over the phone when it was happening live but he didn't believe me.
Commentators can't stop talking about the game during South Carolina - Clemson and A&M - Mizzou
Hell Rotoworld took 20 minutes to update the final score, I think they were in disbelief at what happened too.

Looks like there's a rumor Nick Saban could be heading to Texas. While the report coming out of ESPN Austin was intended to be a mocking of the story, it does seem like some internal rumbling from Camp Saban. While we should take this with a grain of salt, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be true.
"I'm Commander Shepard, but I guess I'm now your therapist."....wow, I'm not all that worried(it's only the end of the first quarter) but Duke, DUKE, has held FSU scoreless. I can see now why they've won the coastal...
Well, I'll be damned. Baylor's loss to UCF threw off my bowl predictions a little...
I now go by Graf von Tirol. Also: Man, duke damn near pulled off the upset of the year, given NOBODY thought it would even be close against texas A&M. Heh, duke future yearly Coastal Division contenders?

I still can't believe UCF was the biggest underdog in a BCS Bowl ever. I mean we've had bowl games in the past such as a Tim Tebow-led Florida team against Cincinnati in the Orange Bowl, a Rose Bowl in which USC was pitted against Illinois, Conneticut against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl and more recently, Northern Illinois against Florida State.
You really mean to tell me that the gap between Baylor and UCF is that big? That even Conneticut was lesser of an underdog than the Knights? Or did they really consider Baylor that much of a powerhouse, despite being in a conference like the Big 12?

Then Oklahoma happened in the Sugar Bowl...
I think part of that was the shocking amounts of offense Baylor produced for quite a bit of the year, which in hindsight is reflected in the quality of defenses they've faced.

I now go by Graf von Tirol. It's back! Pulling for Spurrier today, Wisconsin on Saturday, and Auburn every day!
gettin kinda tired of South Carolina having the CFB Kickoff game every year
Well, I didn't expect Harbaugh to be perfect in his debut, but damn, that pick-six bit.
Kinda hoping that Washington prevails against Boise State. And please Wazzu, be good this year! And don't embarrass me, Idaho (wait, you already did. God fucking dammit! I'm not kidding when I say there's a Humiliation Conga involved. I want the coach and AD out by the end of the year.)
Oh, and technically Montana vs. North Dakota State was the kickoff this year. And it's pretty fun.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Georgia tech starting with the year with the most college football score
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterGeorgia State making moves to win the Dumpster Fire Bowl!
So far we have two FCS upsets over P5 teams.
Okay, so Kansas lost to South Dakota State, but c'mon Wazzu, you lost to, of all things, Portland State?! What the fuck!

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Just another example of why "Coug-ing it" is a thing. My Huskies aren't going to be any good this year, and I'm still embarrassed to call these guys rivals.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Actually I was kind of impressed with the Huskies' second half. It's a damn shame about the first half and the missed FG. Dammit!
EDIT: Oh, and IIRC, "Couging it" involves doing well then choking critically late in the game (the ultimate example being losing to a terrible Colorado team at home after having a massive lead halfway through the fourth quarter in 2012). The Cougs barely had a pulse all game.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Isn't that also called "Clemsoning?"
Any University of Miami fans here?
