I think this is one of the darkest, most morbid, most unfunny episodes in the history of The Simpsons.

I the whole "Springfield overreacts" plot has been used before several times, but the way they handle it is just sickening. There's the Unfortunate Implications of the town driving a ten-year-old boy to suicide and continuing to boo him out from outside the hospital (which is even more depressing these days thanks to the many bullying-related suicides in the news). Everyone in Springfield must have turned into a bunch of scrappies overnight and many "modern" fans say its when the show was Jumping the Shark. I downright refuse to watch this episode ever again for as long as I live.

What are your thoughts?

I, for one, found it rather boring. Both plots for that matter. By that point, I could have cared less that Homer sold his mattress or Bart was getting ridiculed by the town. It was just boring.

Besides, Springfield manages to overreact over anything and everything. Why should I care at this point? If anything, I'd watch "The Telltale Head" if I wanted to see the town to go after Bart.

My thoughts are that this is a complaining thread; and that such threads are not allowed.

Locking. Will delete later.
