Devil Psyco: Would also like to know more about the Kyurem backstory for your characters. One of my P Cs has a history with Kyurem, who also has a somewhat established character and history, so it'd be good to work it into something that works.

Sorry it took so long to answer. I had school today.

So yeah, I read all the things said/written, so here's the answers. (Sorry for it being huge)

About Kyurem: I chose Lacunosa Town to be their home town especially because of Kyurem living nearby, actually. What happened is that sometime during their childhood, they wandered off into Kyurem's cave and got attacked. They tried to run back to Lacunosa, but Kyurem gained on them and tried to attack Norm. Landon took the blow instead, giving him a scar on his forehead, which is why he's wearing a headband to cover it up. Landon's survival was pure luck and willpower, but it gave him a small dislike towards Ice Type Pokémon, which made it hard for him to grow to like Sneasel, but he eventually did for Sneasel's sake. Their grandfather's Salamence, the same one who eventually became the mother of Norm's Mencer, chased Kyurem away after that. Due to not wanting a repeat of this ever happening again, the family moved to Hoenn. Landon isn't chasing after Kyurem or anything, but if they were to meet again, Landon would likely try to battle and catch it, and then never use it out of spite. (Since they're not allowed to have Legendary Mons, I doubt that this will ever happen anyway). So it's just one attack on Landon, and that's it. If anyone has a backstory with Kyurem as well, it can always be from before that, or if that's not an option (if Kyurem's been inactive for x years or something), it maybe wasn't Kyurem who attacked him. (Could be excused by an evil experiment gone or a Ditto transforming into Kyurem and feeling threatened by the twins suddenly appearing). It just says that it was an Ice-Dragon Type, so there's room for it not being the real Kyurem in some sort of twist.

About Mega Evolution: I kinda thought it'd be that way, and I didn't plan on having him have the Key and Mega Stone from the beginning. But that's also why I only put Mega Evolution with Aeryl and not with Mencer. Because they'll only go after the Aerodactylite and not the Salamencite. The reason being that Mencer may go rogue upon Mega Evolution because it's mother can't handle it either. Aeryl, on the other hand, may be able to restrain himself due to his bond with Landon. But, being a child, it might still be too much for him. And Aeryl being capable of Mega Evolution, and not Mencer, will give him even more of a rivalry complex towards Aeryl.

About Haunter and his telepathy: I'm fine with Landon and Norm having to earn the right to be able to understand Mon language, so that's why Haunter has this capability. If Haunter couldn't talk to Landon in some way, how would he have helped him survive all these years, since Haunter also doesn't like to come in cities, so they likely stayed in routes and forests. As for Haunter being in Hoenn, where Haunter don't thrive, there is a good reason for that, but only he himself knows and will likely only explain when feeling like he should. Still, his reasons don't affect his battles whatsoever, so he's willing to fight in any battle that Landon sends him out to, even if he does consider himself a wild Pokémon.

About Norm's height: 5'12" is about 1 meter 82, and 5'10" is about 1 meter 78, which are Norm's and Landon's heights. They're 16, so I gave them around the height I had when I was sixteen. I live somewhere where we use meters, so I'm not used to using feet instead.

About starting out as two people: The reason is simply because their twin brothers and foils to one another. Norm keeps Landon nice and calm, and Landon helps Norm traverse the many routes with ease thanks to his knowledge and experience on things that aren't cities or Gym Battles. They don't always travel together though.

About the Lore: The only thing set is their history with Kyurem(?) and Haunter's reasons, so everything else that happens will play off the lore of the story going on now.

About the Tone: While their backstory might not be the cheeriest, that doesn't mean they can't be happy fun times now. That's the entire reason they're foils too, to get in awkward situations every now and then. They're both good at heart, so there is absolutely zero chance of either of them ever trying to doublecross others, trap others or anything. When in conflict with evil, they will both choose good without hesitation. Drama will likely not come up much at all, since there's nothing for them to be dramatic about. Landon likely despises Kyurem, but that's about it. And Norm's a cheery guy. If drama ever happens to him, it's because he's concerned about someone else. I'm known to put some angst in the stories I write in my free time, but I can easily leave it out without issues. So the brothers angsting is very unlikely to happen, seeing as they also have a strong spirit. Especially Landon, who survived Kyurem of all Pokémon. They'll have awesomeness too. Especially Haunter at times, who will defend Landon if he is in serious danger, like if he loses a battle against a criminal gang or something. Of course, he won't go overboard. I know Haunters are feared because of their... 'unique' ability with their tongue, but Haunter will not go that far. Also, the twins won't be a generic 'good guy, rude guy' duo. They both have hidden depths, and so do their Pokémon. Especially Haunter.

I'll continue this in a second post, because it's getting too big.

Here's part two.

About Every's Essay: While English isn't my first language, I'm good at it, so I usually don't make too many mistakes, and if I do, I try to edit the post as fast as possible to rectify the mistake. Both Landon and Norm accept any challenge headed for them, and the Pokémon interact the most, way more than the trainers. The Pokémon will react to attacks in the realm of what's possible. I can't just have Nugget dodge a Surf, that'd be ridiculous. Battles are supposed to be fair, and I have no problems with letting my trainers lose battles. But that doesn't mean that the Pokémon will be weak, and they'll fight to the best of their capabilities. As for moves and effects being the opponent's choice, I'm already used to battles like that from the Arena, so that's the default kind of battling I do. I never ignore anyone's attacks. If I don't mention it, I just got gre[nja]'d and will put it in a new post with apologies for missing it. While having powers for Landon and Norm would be nice, I don't mind if they stay powerless for the whole game, actually. Haunter's psychic powers are very strong, and will protect Landon when he needs it. Landon's very agile though due to his survival on the routes and in the forests for several years. I'm not a shipping guy either, so if any shipping regarding my characters happens, it'll have to come from the other character. Bolt might act a little naughty, but that's because of her Attract strategy. Of course, it's important to let my characters settle in first instead of making them jump into plot the second they enter the game. I won't rush people either, as I myself know what it's like to be busy. As for plot arcs, I feel like, if I want to propose one, it won't be for a while. I think it's better if I become aquainted with the current plot, the people, etc. first. Rushing things is never a good thing to do. Working together is important too. If I propose an idea, and people don't like it, then I won't do it. I'm not going to insist on it, I'll just move on, otherwise it might ruin the flow of the game. As for being polite, I'm always polite, and I have a lot of patience. Getting me to be mad takes a whole lot.

Also informing you that everything they have has a reason, nothing was just added for the heck of it. Even their Pokémon. Landon has fast, agile Pokémon who can deal quite a punch because that's how he learned to survive: be fast, and be strong. This reflects in his Pokémon. Norm has sturdiern more powerful Pokémon because he's a trainer trying to get the Gym Badges. He gets more actual training in, so his Pokémon naturally outpower Landon's in a battle, even in a three on four. In the wild, however, Landon's Pokémon will outperform Norm's everyday. Also their amount of Pokémon has reasons. Most normal trainers who aren't the Chosen Heroes have about 3 Pokémon at most, unless they're really experienced. Or use 6 Magikarp. Landon has more Pokémon because the more he has, the more they can back each other up in trouble. (Plus, a bit of sibling rivalry tempting him to have one more Pokémon than his brother)

Lastly, there will likely be foreshadowing in regards to Landon and Haunter, as they both have something to hide. Of course, it'll be a while before anything comes out of that. Time helps people and Pokémon evolve, and only after some time will this foreshadowing begin.

OK, thanks for clarifying!

That all looks good, except two things:

1. Kyurem attacking them isn't too outlandish, but RP!Kyurem is usually docile so they would have to have angered or disturbed him somehow.

2. It seems you have read the two essays, but there's a little something you're missing from both... Read carefully toward the middle and end of both.

Well, two kids wandering into a random cave in an adventure to go and see this supposed man-eating monster could be naive enough to make a lot of noise to attract Kyurem to them, which might have angered it into attacking.

As for the Tone essay... I wouldn't really use anything other than human trainers and Pokémon, so don't be afraid of me suddenly bringing in a demon in shorts with a hat and a Top Percentage Rattata. [lol]

And while I know that dark writing or grim tones are allowed as long as they're not overused, just like with foreshadowing, that should come over time. Landon will most likely come off as a silent guy while Norm is a cheerful one. As for references, I rarely make those.

And the Every's Essay, I don't have a second account, and if I do make one, it will only be if this one doesn't work for me anymore, and I'll clearly tell you that it's me. Plus, I don't expect my trainers to be too important, and surely not more important than others. They'll blend in with the rest.

(I'm sorry if I still missed what I was supposed to see... I'm not good at finding hidden things.)

Psyco: Fair enough. Meters are probably fine, but inches are done in increments of 12, so if you use them, it's 6'0", not 5'12".

Otherwise, besides what Umbra said, looks good.

OK, took the essay issue to the chat and we decided since you seem to have read all of both that we can give you the go-ahead to start the battle test even if you didn't find the specific thingamajig.

Though one of the others wants to discuss a justification for the Kyurem thing once you get joined up.

But anyhoo...

Landon sees the angry Ampharos. He takes a good look at it.

Landon: "...Something doesn't seem right about it... Haunter."

He throws a Poké Ball and Haunter emerges.

Haunter: "Yes?"

Landon: "Something's off about that Ampharos. I'm entrusting this battle to you. Try Hypnosis."

Haunter: "Alright."

Haunter sends out a wave of blurry purple energy towards Ampharos. If it hits, Ampharos should fall asleep.

Usually I put some texts in color, like green for Landon and purple for Haunter, but that might be too confusing or distracting. And just so you know, the reason Haunter attacks first is because it should be faster than Ampharos.

-The Ampharos falls over, actually being a cardboard cutout-

-An Emboar then pops out of Landon's pants pocket-

Emboar: <SNEAK ATTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK>

-Tries an Assurance-

Landon: "Hu-"

Landon is hit and falls on the ground. However, he quickly gets up, looking rather dirty due to his fall.

Landon: "You'll pay for that! Haunter, use Psychic!"'''

Haunter glows a bit and casts a purple shockwave with great power, which is headed right for Emboar.

Meanwhile, Landon grabs a second Poké Ball.

I meant, for the things they say, not their names. Like, Landon's command to Haunter would be green.

Just a question though, but would it be considered cheating in a situation like this if Landon summoned a second Pokémon?

Ah, OK. That might be confusing, yeah.

You can send out a second Pokemon if Haunter gets beat.

The Test

-The Emboar is hit by the Psychic for a good chunk of damage-

Emboar: -clutching his head- <Why you do that? Hedache no good for smashy.>

-Tries a Flamethrower-

Landon: "Dodge!"

Haunter tries to evade, but the flames hit a part of his right side. Luckily, he isn't burned, but with Emboar being fully evolved, the attack did some nice damage.

Haunter: "Agh!"

Landon: "Don't give in, Haunter! He may be fully evolved, but he's slow! Use Shadow Ball!"

Haunter charges up a purplish-black ghostly energy ball, which he then throws at Emboar.

I meant, if he summons one while Haunter is still capable of battle, since they're being assaulted right now.
