I can do nothing but clap.
Bravo, Kojima.
It being Psycho Mantis as a kid certain fits the time frame. Plus the whole place catching on fire links it to Mantis as well. Remember that he did burn down his village with his telekinetic abilities.
Also, is David Hayter is hinting at something?

The man all but confirmed Big Boss.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI don't think it's Big Boss, mostly because he didn't lose his arm, as far as far as we know. I'm actually thinking this might be his 4th clone, the only living one after Solid Snake presumably dies soon after MGS4.

In Metal Gear 2, Big Boss was rebuilt as a cyborg with new limbs and things. As of the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database, that is apparently something still in canon. Also, it's mentioned in 4 that Big Mama and Ocelot rebuilt Big Boss with body parts harvested from Liquid and Solidus.
Or, it's possible Konami flipped the visuals left to right of the trailer, and in the real game everything will be on the opposite side, it will be the right arm missing instead of the left, and it will be Liquid.

Wouldn't explain how Volgin would be there. He'd be an old man.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Psycho Mantis/The Sorrow induced hallucinations. Easy. In fact, it would make much more sense. I mean, I would think Volgin being dead would be a much bigger issue than his age.
EDIT: The last one at the end. Car crash.
EDIT: Medical equipment.

Damn these guys screwing with our heads!
Like anything they could do will cause a WMG shit storm until answers are provided.
Like "what's the deal with the Snake shirt with the red D on it"? Or "does the 'Moby Dick Studios' and the flaming whale mean anything"?

Actually I like the idea of "Snake" being a younger Solidus.
It's about the only character that would fit that we don't know much about.
No regret shall pass over the threshold!Haha:
...Could Konami be sued for that? I hope not, but still, that seems like it might become an issue in the future.
...I feel like a madman stringing up newspaper stories in his room.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Metal Gear fandom in a nutshell.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI really hope that Volgin was a hallucination. I can't think of a way to bring him back that wouldn't kill my suspension of disbelief.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. That would explain why the trailer felt so Western.
Care to explain?
It's hard to explain, but perhaps I should have said it didn't feel very Kojima like.
Not saying you're wrong. He did meet up with J J Abrams yesterday.
I think I know why I felt that way. We went in blind not knowing what it was. We didn't know it was a Metal Gear game until about an hour after the trailer debuted. Looking back at it, it's obviously A Metal Gear trailer.

The fiery unicorn and whale things do seem out of place for a Metal Gear game. Sure, they would probably be possible in a world of psychics, an immortal vampire-like person, and cyborgs that can somehow stop a million ton ship and throw Humongous Mecha around, but it just feels like a different kind of fantastical than normal Metal Gear.
Then again, from what I've heard, Zone Of The Enders 3 will have some fantasy/non sci-fi fantastical elements, so who knows what Kojima may do with the franchise?
I disagree, the trailer, especially the text that appeared on screen, was very Kojima-esqe.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Oh, yeah, the whole Horrifying Military Related Shenanigans and Mind Fuckery was definitely Kojima-like, it's just the fantasy-eque fire creatures part that seem weird.
There was that flaming… skull… thing after The Fury blew up.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/They
So. That's.
Weird.
I think that's Liquid after the events of Shadow Moses. I noticed that signs, text, and hall directions are blurred out, leaving me to think it was intentional.
The reason why? Because the video is a mirror reflection to throw people off (thinking the wrong arm is amputated).
If the text on walls had been left in, it would be obvious the video is mirrored.
I'm not going to say anything. But wow is the Neogaf thread a fun read.
EDIT: A fun read with the obvious exception of people bitching about current-gen versus next-gen graphics. That's really annoying.
EDIT: Someone even reversed the audio of the trailer. Damn.
EDIT: T shirts.
