so after a brief stumbling period of learning the new system I am once again well on my way to thaumaturgical superiority.

Yeah, the new research system is... rather confusing at first.

Also, are you aware of the massive taint patch that's growing near spawn? I was an idiot and forgot to mark the coords though.

I think I'm going to get started with my Thaumaturgical lab. I was planning on building somewhere in the TRUNK of the tree, not the treetops, is that fine?

all I need now is some fething vis for my wand -_-

No Millianire mod to go in that modpack? Or does that have trouble in multiplayer.

[up][up] Building in the trunk is fine, I guess.

[up] I only put in the most major mods when making the pac as it is... quite resource intensive.

I don't really consider the automation mods to fall into that category but to each his own. I prefer nice new content heavy mods. Grimoire of Gaia provides challenging Mobs. Infernal them making it much more difficult. Throw in some Mettallurgy and Millinaire to have some interesting time village building and mining, and higher tiers of metal to combat the new difficult mobs. Automation just kinda trivializes what are mostly trivial things anyway. Or outright cheats.

For that matter, I'm not sure why you would imply that Millenaire isn't a major, well known and widely used mod. Surely over two thousand pages of posts on its mod thread accounts for something. Thamcraft is certainly popular with 1/4 of that in posts in its thread. Though I'm not sure how many threads Tham has migrated to and from, some mods do that a lot.

[up] The reason I consider the mods I left in the pack major is that they are pretty much all ones that are part of Forgecraft, which is the biggest/most famous group of mod authors that I know of. Mods that are developed independently or are not interconnected with other major mods tend to be less well known. For example, I haven't heard about Millenaire in quite a long time and assumed it was no longer being updated.

From a more technical point of view, mods that make worldgen changes tend to not play well with each other. For example the first Ars Magica had quite a few issues with integrating its structures into modded terrain. Millenaire and the other mods you mention also don't quite fit the theme of the packs I tend to create, which are more focused on construction and technology than on exploration or other sorts of play styles. As such there isn't really much reason to include them if they don't offer content that meshes well with the other mods. I don't really know much about most of the mods you mentioned, but as far as I know the only one which adds similar themes is Mettalurgy, which I considered but decided against as I feel it makes Tinker's Construct significantly harder to work with.

Went on real quick, I really like the redwood tree/not at all evil basement. Going to be back on in a bit and see if I can do something about getting some more resources.

The annoying things about redwood trees that I have learned from this are that 1. for some reason redwood leaves block solar panel access to sky and 2. redwoods don't actually have branches, just randomly generated globs of leaves everywhere that are often not actually connected to anything.

I'm working on installing the mod-pack.

Surely this will be a trial.

Soo, whenever I try to install the mod-pack and load, it says I need a forge 9.11.1965.

Although technically I don't think Millenaire is a Worldgen mod. at all. Millenaire villages spawn after the world is generated, sometimes you can see it happen if it happens close enough to you.

Should I be?

I've been deleting the folders before placing them.

[up] Yeah, you should be using Direwolf20 v1.0.18 as other packs might have different versions of Forge.

Anyone know if villagers from Millenaire can be "harvested" for emerald blood in Ti C like vanilla ones?

Unless there's a plugin for Tinker's that won't work.

Hmm. I take a sort of sadistic glee in finding villages at night and abducting the hapless populace with my net gun.

That's...utterly psychotic. Why didn't I think of that?!

@serverpeople: I got the cobalt hammer working. In the undergrowth you'll find a stand with a pick/hammer/mps chest piece combo. The pick has fortune 3 on it (on a completely unrelated note we're out of lapis) and the hammer is electric so the chest piece should keep it running. Do note that the chest piece has no protection on it so if you come across mobs you might want other armor to swap to. There's also a chest with a few backpacks and some wood for torches.

I did some digging and we've not got 99 diamonds and another 800ish iron once we've processed it. So now the question is what to do with all our loot.

I think we should look into getting to the end shortly. A lot of recipes require ender pearls and I think I can rig up a machine to get us unlimited pearls/mob essence. IF the mob essence portion falls through I can still get a great endyman spawner going in there.

I have my first piece of runic armor, the infusion table ate the other one because my platform isn't large enough.

I'll be migrating the AE system underground shortly and hopefully making the autocrafter. I really hope that I'm right about them removing IC 2 wire resistances...
