Yeah, he's obviously not Silver Fang or Tornado level.

He stalemated Monster Garou in the Webcomic, I believe, or at least, monster Garou didn't want to fight him.

Rankings aren't 100% about power. Silver Fang is also the S-Class Team Grandad.

Mumen Rider is at the top of C-class not because he is more powerful, but because of his productivity and dedication.

Silverfang is the second strongest S Rank we know the exact strength of, just behind Tatsumaki. He's not as strong as Darkshine, or as fast as Flash, but he's skilled enough to stomp Darkshine, at least, in a sparring match.

I believe the final battle of the series will end in a simple manner.

Saitama's opponent is blinded by the sun shining off Saitama's head, and Saitama uses the distraction to win.

Edit: fixed the typo.

They really were hyping up Boros` voice huh. At least it was pretty great, can't wait to hear how he sounds in the fight.

You know, when I first heard of One Punch Man, it was just a short blurb on a tropes page, and I imagined Saitama as a 60-year-old overly grizzled bearded parody of grimdark 90s antiheroes, and he effortlessly gibs godzilla-sized monsters all the time, than angsts for hours crying about how he's too strong while speaking mostly in angsty/badass one-liners. I could not have been farther off, but that mental image still amuses me from time to time.

Actually you might not have been far off. We know Saitama was a struggling jobseeker and probably in his early to mid 20s. He went bald (indicating age) and he's not married, and as we know in Japan not getting married before you're 25 is like a death sentence, so if you're not doing the gruesome twosome by that point you will probably end up alone and in an apartment somewhere. At least until a cyborg, an otaku, and a mafia unit end up forcing their way into your living space. Saitama does angst about how he's too strong he just does it in a pathetically humorous kind of way. His one-liners aren't really meant to be badass because he's already so badass he has no need for one-liners.

The manga's kind of gotten off-track with Saitama's angsting - like I respected this manga for giving its hero a comedic, plausible existential crisis and focusing on that over how awesome his strength is. That said, I don't know where the web comic went and maybe that wasn't meant to be the epitome of the series. I do hope it eventually gets back to Saitama dealing with his life crisis or realizing he has friends now. Otherwise I could see OPMAN becoming a Long Runner in the vein of Lupin the 3rd or Case Closed.

Really when I first heard "One Punch Man" I expected a really dumb superhero parody. The art immediately blew me away with Vaccine Man's appearance and I flicked through a few more chapters and soon enough he'd ball-tapped Speed of Sound Sonic. After that I was just waiting for the anime to be announced, which it was, and for it to pop up on Crunchyroll, and sure enough it did.

I wonder when he'll realize he has money, because Genos is loaded.

I also find it interesting that the fact that Saitama is only a hero because he wants to be, makes him more moral than a few members of the Hero Association.

Saitama knows Genos is loaded. Genos gives Saitama a foot high stack of 10,000 yen bills in chapter 19 so that Saitama will let him move in.

Maybe in the anime I can't remember exactly, but in the manga he just shows up with it. Saitama did agree to let Genos be his disciple at this point and it was after they both got into the Heroes Association, but he wasn't about to let Genos move in then Genos slaps that on the table and Saitama abruptly changes his mind.

I'm going to start reading OPM, since I'm ready to get caught up, and seem to be intent on using OPM, Attack On Titan, JJBA and finishing Cromartie High School to replace the manga I used to read, Bleach and Naruto. So:

Is there an official English version of the manga or (preferably) webcomic available online?

It's actually difficult enough to find it all compiled at all, let alone by any kind of official source.

You might just want to watch the anime. The original webcomic was intentionally made to look crappy (still entertaining). The manga, no matter where I've found it, is usually sloppily organized, with chapters missing and divided sometimes into 3-5 page chapters. "6.1, 6.2, etc." Murata also has a thing for making these stop motion animation thingies (forget what they're called).

Like he'll have a really long drawing of a meteor falling and it looks cool if you're holding it or looking at a GIF but sifting through it can be kind of annoying.

As it stands the anime was stupid popular and is already on its way to a 2nd season. Naturally it's chewing through the source material and you're not really missing much. Heck some of the fights are actually extended.

On the other hand if you're doing things the boring way I suppose you'd just have to track down some of the special/Extra Punch chapters which are probably rolled into whichever Volume they're supposed to be in. In which case, enjoy.
