BUY A CAR FROM ME!I'm sorry. Mods, feel free to lock this if you need.
Edit: will I at least be able to post about the Kickstarter campaign when it starts?

Wait a minute, if there actually is a campaign to bring SWAT Kats then this is probably threadworthy.
We don't have context for that first post or the topic at all... if the context is true enough than it probably shouldn't be locked.
So... what Kickstarter? What post were you talking about in the OP?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Christian Tremblay is planning a Kickstarter campaign to produce new episodes of the SWAT Kats about ten days from now (it's probably more like seed funding, the real money probably comes in if/when a media company picks up the show). They've seemed to have this in the wings for a few years but we weren't certain if that was what they were working on.
The fans have been busy too. There's currently a Facebook page and blog about bringing the series back into production (to avoid spam accusations I won't post links until someone asks for them).
The cool thing about all this is that I'm currently Facebook friends with George Booker (a storyboard artist for the series) and am acquainted with Randall Crissman (who was the music composer for the series).
Ooh! Sounds very interesting. It's a shame, that show was only very slightly ahead of its time, and should've kicked off a lot more than it had.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah, Christian and Yvon Tremblay emailed a person over at swatkats.us a picture of themselves and Glenn Leopold a few years back. We weren't certain if they were together to plan something or what.

If what you're saying is true, then this thread IS worth it. And in fact a few links can help prove that is true.
And Swat Kats indeed ruled, I'd love to see it return in some form.
Okay. For starters, we have received some emails from Chris Tremblay about producing SWAT Kats again. Here's one on swatkats.us: http://forum.swatkats.us/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2541&start=30#p41976
As for fan based stuff, much of the activity comes from (shameless plugs ahead!) the Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/groups/150713438282857/ or my blog: http://skrevival.blogspot.com/
My channel is almost entirely SWAT Kats stuff (both revival and otherwise): https://www.youtube.com/user/manifoldspace
Pardon the double post, but I have a question. Would it be alright to post something about this movement in the SWAT Kats page?
I think it's OK. Just mention that there's a current activity to revive the show, and a link to it, in the main text. Don't forget to explain how official it is, so as not to be misleading.
Okay, the edit has been made on the main SWAT Kats page. And if anyone is interested, Christian Tremblay is doing an I Am A over at Reddit this Wednesday ath 10:00 PM EST.
I died a little inside.
But this would be awesome if it happened.
The Kickstarter campaign has just started!

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Holy shit I thought this was going to be a pointlessly necro'ed thread.
So this was all totally true and just came....three years later than originally teased.
bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is, like, the ONLY kickstarter you could get me to back with how poor i am right now.
If they extended this to after i got a real job, i'd legit drop some three-digit value on this. Unfortunately i think i can only justify, say, $30-$50.
The timing of this is fortuitous, as i was just thinking about adding more bits and bobs into my "SWAT Kats revival bible" that i wrote three years ago for kicks. I wrote a first season which fairly ripped off the first season of the actual show, but had an idea to go in a slightly different direction afterwards; second season, Pastmaster would be the main villain, providing a more logical link to alternate continuities like the Dark SWAT Kats, and then in later seasons, future technology accidentally introduced by the Pastmaster would make it easy for superscience weaponry to spread beyond Megakat City, allowing the show to expand it's setting.
As much as there's no chance of it working, i would totally shoot my story ideas/scripts to them.
This, however, has a shot if they can get a network to buy in. CN unfortunately is on its anti-action kick as much as i'd like to see the SWAT Kats go home, but Disney XD could be convinced...
Well. You can all just color me surprised at this.
I mean, really, when I saw the title "SWAT Kats revival", I was like, "Wait, what?"
The first few posts made me think it was bogus but then I found the link to the Kickstarter.
And I'm like..."Whoa."
Netflix, IMO, looks to be a likely candidate as well.
Well, in any case, if (or when) this gets funded, I only ask this of the Trembley bros.:
- Consider foreshadowing the possibility of the TurboKat becoming a Transforming Mecha. (Like don't have it be a Transforming Mecha right off the bat, just build up to it.) And...
- please, for the love of all that is fine and good in the world, consider having this be animated by Titmouse. If my insistence for Titmouse is getting annoying, I apologize, but I just don't see any other studio who could pull it off better than Titmouse.

Would Tremblay Bros have animation capacity, or would they just be in charge of production (storyboarding, etc). Of course, the original wasn't technically animated by Hannah-Barbera either, but by a few different far eastern companies.
x5 Wow! This is awesome! I think that at the rate this is going at (if it remains steady),the money that the Brothers Tremblay will raise from the backers will blow past even the Swat Kats movie strech goal. Hopefully, this miniseries does not go to any of the Big 3 Kids' networks (or their less available sister channels) becuase of their apathy towards action cartoons. Personally, I'd rather see it on Netflix.
x2 Nah, I hope this show is done in 2d traditional animation.

"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"Pledged at the $25 level. Just 2,000 people like me and they'll reach their basic goal.
It's doubtful they'll keep up at this level, but that's why it was clever for them to slot in at $50,000, fairly attainable.
Got my hopes up for nothing. >=(
Thought they actually were doing one. Just another kickstarter. Feh.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Fund it! The more they get, the more likely this is to happen in some form.
I mean, obviously temper your expectations, we've all seen kickstarter go to unfulfilling places, but $5 down for the chance to see something awesome is still better odds than the lottery :-P
Well, I'm pretty sure you can help make the revival happen by backing the Tremblay Bros in the kickstarter, if you've got the cash.

"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"Oh look, they've already gone past the halfway point.
Woooo!
(about your comment of how you think this revival will be traditionally animated.)
Um, with respect, are you familiar with Titmouse's line of work?
I am familiar with Titmouse's work, and what I can say is that the Flash animation on the shows they've worked on is outstanding. However, Swat Kats has a certain Animesque style that I don't think will translate well to Flash, even awesome animation, like Titmouse's.
