The marine additions work for me. Though TBH, I find Mirror Worlds hard to swallow unless they are created by Q-like beings. Similarly turning people into pictures is kinda cartoony. But maybe paralyzed into statue-like states?

Would I be able to get an up to date summary of how this world works.
The Prodigal Son returns. We're just playing with world-building here.
If you guys want I can write a summary later.
I just want a summary to suggest possible world shaping events after the initial cause of the superpowers
The Prodigal Son returns.Ok I'll try to write one up soon.
Hey, Sijo that's a great idea to have my character turn people into statues instead of pictures because he could sell them to other people or to museums as art. I have a list of characters that I made for this setting that's two pages long. So, if anyone needs names for characters. I have some that you can use.

Here's a new character for this setting. Sniping Archer aka Griffin Quiver is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is of Eskimo and French descent. He became a bounty hunter who uses a bow with high tech and normal arrows which he uses sometimes to shoot his bounties in the knee. He moved to Settle, Washington to hunt down the Spirit of Vengence because the government has put a bounty on him.
Sorry I haven't gotten around to that summary, folks. Other projects have kept me busy. I'll hopefully get to it soon.
Just a thing: what about wartime heroes? like capitan america facing red skull, I know this is almost a short of sub genre in superhero that I found neither Marvel or DC use a lot(and yes, I like first class for it)
Did you have heroes like that in your setting?.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"In my setting humans and Demons are locked in an eternal war because of both sides' mistakes. Does that count?
Where there's life, there's hope.Ok, let's clear up a few things.
Originally, this thread was meant as a creative exercise, with the basic premise being that superhumans would derive from a mysterious object crashing on Earth *in the future*. So no, I don't think there would have been WWII heroes except maybe non-powered ones.
Also, I did not come up with the original concept. I just have been posting ideas and comments.
Finally, the topic seems to have expanded to also including advice on creating your own hero settings, so I feel we can still do both- expand the original 'alien impact' setting while also talking about our projects.
And yes I still mean to make that thread summary, things just keep coming up (I GM two games plus RL stuff.)
What's the next phase for this setting?
Which one are you talking about?
Where there's life, there's hope.I personally think the first one had the best set up.
The Prodigal Son returns.I'm talking about the first superhero setting and I agree with your statement, Movie Reference.
Proposal for a neutral psychic from the first setting. Sarda Puckett Powers: Painting the Medium and by necessity Medium Awareness Personality:Think Rick Sanchez only functional without being intoxicated. Job:Theoretical Inventor(think all the inventions Da Vinci never made) and Entrepreneur(patenting all his theoretical inventions to sell)

How long did that take you? Also, wouldn't one of the governments like America try to create (or recreate since this could still be in the same world) an A.I. like the A.I.s found in Person of Interest?
I have a *lot* of free time. Though sometimes I lack inspiration.
And yeah, I'm pretty sure at least one functional AI must exist by then- we're already on the edge of developing one and just look at the way computer engineering has quantum leaped in recent decades. Probably several, and I'll bet they have them working on figuring out The Object. Of course, how this might affect them is up for debate...
Ok. I was trying to make a robot that's a rogue A.I. that's like Ultron mixed with Sigma from Mega Man X along with a bit of Gorilla Grogg thrown in but I'm having trouble naming him and thinking about what would its motives be aside from wiping out all humans because it would know that there's nothing to do afterwards because everyone would be dead and there's no proof of life on other planets yet.

It's "Grodd" and yeah, you need to work on the motivation: why does everyone assume AIs would want us dead, anyway? If anything they might hurt us accidentally due to a lack of understanding of human needs.
People are afraid that we'll become the modern age equivalent of the Neanderthals.
The Prodigal Son returns.I came up with a motive for my rogue A.I. It wants to get rid of all super powered people because it sees them as a threat since it wants to bring order to the world like Samaritan from Person of Interest was trying to do.
I have an idea for an alternate timeline where everything is the opposite of our world. I also want to add another location to the island I mentioned in the post above, called Fog City. Then I would like to add a new character called Freeze Frame aka Emirs Zeera, who has the power to turn people into photos whenever he chooses.
