The issue is that it might make That Man Is Dead look like it's about a stock phrase.

That'd work better horizontally. Wouldn't need to resize the panels any, either (it's 170 wide, 170*2 = 340 < 350).

That's entirely text-based. Works better as a quote, since there's literally nothing visual about it.

Agree with The Pope, though: not a good image. Pretty much (if not literally) all the useful information is in the text, and it requires familiarity with the source to "get". (Although I think it is possible to get it without familiarity, I can't judge that well.)
