Can't post that often because uni is killing me right now. I'll get used to the tempo eventually, after which I'll probably start posting more.

The RP being slow isn't the end of the world, (or the RP) and if this is gonna be the normal pace from now on, we'll just have to adjust.

Anyway, I'm here now. Seems I have to get used to the idea of using my days off to sleep in and take care of some random things; lately whether I've had work or not has not had much of a difference on the time I am able to get on the computer.

As for the RP, unfortunately I have some writer's block tonight, and was kind of hoping to get some work done on something unrelated; so I don't know if I'll be posting tonight. (Something I anticipated yesterday, hence "tomorrow or the day after" being mentioned in my last post.)

Hella late post is hella late due to frickin' writer's block. Bah. But at least I got it up before bed. Now I'm gonna head off and pass out soon.

If it's not obvious from the dialogue guys, you can have your characters go out and look for trades; these can be specific or general, but the more specific you get the less likely you are to find what you're looking for.

@Eachiunn: Now is the time we can bring in your second character, if you want.

@Gameknight: Same goes for Gunslinger.

Atomic has discussed probably switching out one of his characters with me on skype, so this town is also probably where we'll have that happen. So anyone else who's thinking of switching out a character, now's probably a good time.

@Eachiunn: Excellent. The NCC forces currently in the town would consist of Harry, one combat priest, (Who in this case is a lower rank than him, but they have wildly different responsibilities.) and a squad of zealots currently with the priest. They've appropriated a local church for their temporary use; nobody really objected to them doing so.

You can either go ahead and post for him, or if you'd prefer I'll post for the other NCC guys to set things up and you go from there.

Had an unexpectedly high amount of distractions today. But here's a post before I head for bed! smile

@Eachiunn: To clarify further just in case, Harry is technically a higher rank than the priest, (so the priest can by no means tell him what to do) however since the NCC's ranking system isn't perfectly linear, the priest doesn't necessarily have to do what Harry tells him to do either, and the zealots are directly under the priest's command.

Their operational interaction is kind of like that between a regular army squad and a special forces team. (Harry is the latter in that analogy.) They could have wildly different objectives and orders, and neither can really force the other to go along with their orders.

@Gameknight: Recon wouldn't be hearing the cockatiel if he's still inside the firetruck; it's too far away and through too many random people making noise.

Anyway, here now after staying a little while extra at work. Post is incoming now and should be up relatively soon, hopefully.

Here now after work; didn't post yesterday 'cause I was kind of waiting for more posts. Now I'm gonna see about posting soon regardless.

Got some good news about next week's schedule: I don't work at all until next weekend! grin Well, it's because I have a jury service term next week, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll have to do anything. Starting Monday I have to call every day and see if I have to go to the courthouse the following day. At the current rate based on my number, I probably won't have to go in until near the end of the week, if at all. I do have work next Saturday and Sunday though, and possibly RPG night with friends on Friday. But other than that, I am now free until next weekend.

Out of curiosity, who is still playing?

I am. Recon and GS are both going to be out of play for a few turns. Bad timing, but oh well.

@Gameknight: There you go with that "turns" term again.

@Troy: You might want to post then. tongue

In all seriousness though, you don't have to if you don't want to or can't think of anything; but if there is anything Pyro wants to try trading for, he'll have to do that before you guys leave the town.

Anyway, I'm here; been spending the day watching youtube and such while waiting for posts. Now that there are some more I'll see about getting a response up soonish; just want to finish a couple more things first.

... Man, even when I get a whole week off, we still move damn slow. Oh well, such is life I suppose. tongue

Anyway, here now after work; don't particularly feel like posting in response to just one post, but I may do so later tonight if there aren't any new posts by then regardless. In the meantime, stopping in to post up my schedule for next week before I forget about it:

Got normal work shifts on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, plus probably RPG night with friends Friday.

Is the guy selling axes different from the guy in this one?

Orion would find fire sales alright, but none of them looked like things that were particularly useful. One lady was offering a whole collection of glass miniatures, enough to fill a decent sized cabinet, for only about a hundred bucks, while another guy was selling off a bunch of paintings at only a dollar or two each. (Anyone can get one without having to spend a point, or spend a point and get a bunch.) The most practical looking fire sale was a guy selling throwing axes, again at only a few dollars each. (Same as the paintings.)

@Gameknight: Nothing wrong that I can tell.

@Nman: Well fucking shit, I forgot about that part when I made my responses to you. I don't feel like making all the necessary edits just yet, but basically the entire conversation between the man and Max is retconned; he could have gotten all three without spending a single point with no trouble.

Leave it to me to forget part of my own post, damnit.

Anyway, here now after work, gonna see about posting a bit later; have to catch up on some things first.

What about Roderick bartering his knives?

#3445: Oct 5th 2014 at 9:49:13 PM

@Nman: That was not forgotten.

The man Roderick approached raised an eyebrow, noting a flaw in Roderick's pitch. "If these throwing knives are so great, then why do you want to trade them for my axes?" the man pointed out, and shook his head. "I'll trade you one for one, but not two for one" he added simply, tapping the handle of one of his throwing axes against the blade of one of the throwing knives.

Roderick shrugged in response, the man had a good point. As he ruminated on whether or not he wanted to keep one of his knives during the exchange, Roderick had what he believed to be a brilliant idea. Sheathing his knives...

Roderick snatched up the pair of axes and shoved them into his belt next to his knives...

He still has them; the man declined his initial offer so Roderick offered his dragon's breath rounds instead.

No, he traded the rounds.

I'm not sure what you're confused about. He traded the rounds for two of the axes, and the man had three axes left after that.

But if you're retconning things, he lost both rounds for what should have been much cheaper. Or he could have gotten his 'free' one, and only traded one round for the second axe.

No, only the part with Max is retconned. Roderick is the one who made the offer with the dragon's breath rounds, and the man accepted. This was done before Max came in, and before I derped and forgot how much the man was offering the axes for.

EDIT: Also, he traded four rounds, not two.

But the part I quoted was from before Roderick or Max showed up.

Also his initial offer, being two knives for four axes, might have been affected too.
