My biggest fear is that the patch buffs Riki juuust enough for pros to use him and realize that Smoke Screen is one of the most OP basic abilities ever. At least that's the way it feels. Though, Riki does have a vastly more soothing voice than Sniper or Troll Warlord.

I remember when I won 3v5 as Lifestealer and the enemy Lina (who killed Broodmother and Drow and made them leave the game) on the other team called us "bitches".

People usually get Requiem after fully skilling up Necromastery, since Requiem builds off of Necromastery.

Yeah. It's generally best to not put any points into Requiem (or Presence, for that matter) until you've maxed Necromastery and Shadowraze.

Just a few minutes ago, I learned that jungle creeps in DOTA: All-Stars sleep during nighttime and won't aggro if you stand in the camp, requiring you to actually damage them. I'm assuming that this is one of those Warcraft III things that they couldn't remove.

I've told people that don't play DOTA that DOTA 2 isn't actually a sequel and that a more accurate title would be "DOTA: Less Restrictive Game Engine Edition".

Yeah, that was a built-in Warcraft III mechanic, but I think it was modifiable to some extent (like, I don't think golems slept at night), so I'm thinking that they may have kept it in DOTA 1 on purpose.

Mud Golems no longer have Spell Immunity

And Chens, Enchantresses, and Enigmas everywhere shall rejoice. There are plenty of other changes to take advantage of this, too.

Skimmed through everything, and the main thing I enjoyed was the slight nerfs to Sniper and Troll. I was expecting a mana cost increase as well, but you can't get it all, I suppose.

Also digging the new items and those new additions to Vlad's aura.

Gold mechanic changes

Assuredly interesting, although I can't dig through all the changes right now.

The following heroes are no longer restricted from buying Basher/Abyssal (but they are still restricted from activating Bash): Spirit Breaker, Faceless Void, Slardar and Troll

That's actually pretty important. Abyssal is a powerful item, and even if those heroes can't pick up the extra Bash, it's still another option open.

Alchemist can now cast Aghanim's Scepter to directly grant any allied hero all Aghanim's Scepter bonuses as a buff (the hero upgrade and the stat upgrade). The scepter is consumed in the process. Multiple instances of this buff do not stack. Alchemist can target himself as well

YOU WUT M8? With all the new Aghs....

Bounty Hunter Shuriken Toss now more damage, further Track bounce range, but more expensive and shorter cast range

Icefrog pls.

Track now shows how much gold the enemy is carrying in the debuff tooltip

Kunkka no longer turns to cast Torrent

Kunkka Io now. That's gonna make dodging Torrent harder if you were paying attention before.

Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade to Legion Commander: Duel lasts until either Legion Commander or her target dies. Ends if duelists are ever more than 2,000 range apart.

A bit risky if you're more likely to lose a prolonged duel, but unlikely you'd buy this if you were losing duels anyway.

Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade to Lifestealer: Grants a new skill, Assimilate. Assimilate allows Lifestealer to target an allied hero and swallow them, allowing them to hide inside of Lifestealer. Any healing Lifestealer receives is shared with the assimilated hero. The assimilated hero can release itself at any time by clicking on the buff icon to erupt outward and deal 300 damage to enemies in a 700 area of effect. If Lifestealer dies or assimilates another hero, the currently assimilated hero will automatically exit. Issuing any order with your hero, a few seconds after being assimilated, will take you out.

Wait, what? Does this stack with infest? Lifestealer + Spirit Breaker/Clockwerk + one more new meta?

Added Agahnim's Scepter upgrade to Lone Druid: Allows Spirit Bear to attack at any range from Lone Druid, and prevents Spirit Bear from dying if Lone Druid dies

Fear the bear.

Improved Aghanim's Scepter: Allows Eclipse to be cast on an area within 2,500 range. Grants obstructed vision of that area. Can also target any allied unit to center Eclipse on their location, even while moving (can double click or target Luna)

Damn. Now you can Eclipse your initatior instead of having to dive in yourself.

Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade to Morphling: Grants a new ability, Hybrid. Allows morphling to target an ally, turning himself into a hybrid illusion, removing the Morphling himself. This hybrid illusion can cast non-ultimate abilities and has your original attributes. Lasts 20 seconds. When the duration ends or the hybrid dies, your hero emerges (cannot end prematurely). Cooldown: 140, Manacost: 200, 600 cast range. Note: Ability is not available while you have a Replicate living.

Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade: Song of the Siren Scepter now regenerates you and nearby allies by 6% of maximum HP per second for up to 7 seconds.

Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade to Wraith King: Allies who are near Wraith King (within 1200 aoe) when slain become Wraiths for 5 seconds, delaying their death. They can continue attacking, casting, etc. When the duration ends, the hero dies, and credit for the kill goes to whowever landed the original killing blow.

I'LL HELP MY WEAK AND PUNY ALLIES WHERE I CAN.

Items upon items!

The big thing here is that some mid-game items now have late-game continuations, which means more potential item progression, especially for supports that tend to grab value items.

Passive: Spell Lifesteal - Restores health for a percentage of any damage dealt from spells. 25% from heroes, 5% from creeps

We League now.

Observer and Sentry Wards now stack into one inventory slot. Double clicking toggles which ward type is currently active

And slot-wanting supports everywhere rejoice.

Boots of Travel can now be upgraded by purchasing the recipe again. Allows you to target and teleport to allied heroes

Teleport cooldown from 50 to 45

As someone who loves a fast Boots of Travel, this is amazing.

Damage increased from 300 to 330

Not 322, Icefrog pls.

Radiance Burn now causes affected enemies to have a 17% miss rate

That's actually a boon to tanky Radiance heroes.

Can now be used on to eat Wards. Eating a ward heals for double the amount, 230 HP over 16 seconds. (Cause Wards taste better.)

Wards confirmed delicious.

All in all, time to relearn the game.

WAVE OF TREES

  • Added Aghamin's Scepter upgrade to Nyx: Adds a new ability, Burrow, with a one second cast time. While Burrowed, Nyx Assassin is invisible and unable to move/attack, but has 40% damage resistance, and regenerates 1.5% of his health and mana per second. Nyx Assassin's abilities also have improved properties while burrowed: Mana Burn and Impale have 50% increased cast range, Impale Cooldown is reduced from 13 to 9, and Spiked Carapace instantly stuns any enemy units within a 300 area of effect without requiring them to hurt him first. Casting Vendetta causes Burrow to end

[up][up] I'm pretty sure it means that it frees up an item slot for anyone (including Alchemist) who has an Agh's upgrade, while consuming the item in the process. So I'm taking it to mean that if Alchemist uses it on himself, he virtually gains seven item slots, with the Agh's bonus as the seventh.
