I'm generally best with simple heroes. Some of the ones I've found myself enjoying/being successful at are Sven, Drow Ranger, Legion Commander, Lich, Omniknight, and Axe. I'm generally most at home in either a safelane carry or support role.

[up]Absolutely nothing. Just an overcompliation to amuse mostly myself (unless you guys want to enter a tournament or something).

That said, you all should probably should join the guild. I think everyone's in, but I'm not sure.

So, 11:00 PM EST (4:00 GMT, if my math is right) work for most of us?

Okay, I'll join the guild for sure. What's its name? I'm looking at my pending group invites and there's nothing that really reminds me of TV Tropes, so I'm guessing I still need an invite sent to me.

It's an in-game group rather than a Steam group - you have to be Steam friends with one of the members for them to invite you.

I should've been clearer. It was already Saturday when I said today last post XD At least in my timezone.

It's almost 13/1 PM here, which means it should be 16/4 PM in Greenwhich time. I'm going to be able to play in half an hour, maybe an hour from now. I'll try to leave Steam chat open.

It appears I've made a terrible miscululation. When I said 4:00 GMT, I meant 4:00 AM GMT, on Sunday (that would be Saturday 11:00 EST). Oops.

There may be some rescheduling involved.

I dunno how rescheduling would work for me. This is probably the last time I'm gonna be playing a game of Dota 2 before Spring Break, if not summer.

Jimmy: Ah. Well, I've got nothing in my DOTA2 notifications either, so I guess I'll still need that invite.

Well, had our first big group game, and I'd say we did quite well. I'll confess I had a considerable hand in our loss (If Chain Frost is a big part of your team's damage and you are the Mek carrier, don't die without casting both), but I think we all had fun.

I'd say I was at fault for getting a bit cocky. I died more times than I should have. Got caught out of position.

I'm thinking Eye of Skadi maybe isn't the best item for Drow Ranger. Not before Butterfly.

Sorry for going to sleep instead of playing the game, I thought it was going to be 4 GMT, and the only reason I was still awake at 5 GMT is because I got distracted playing a game (which I started playing to distract myself while I waited to see if anyone would show up) @_@

Well, the match was pretty close, I think there were plenty of mistakes going on on both sides. I know I got ahead of myself and let myself get caught out a few times when I knew I should've withdrawn. I also fed Spectre an unnecessary kill because I overestimated how farmed I'd gotten. In a normal situation, getting that Shackle and then blasting her probably would've killed her, but I knew I was playing from a disadvantage, so it was just plain dumb of me.

I like games like the one we had, even if I lose, because I can look at it and see how I can improve on my own playing, rather than go all Dunning-Kruger and mumble later about how I had terrible teammates.

Craziest game of my life

VENOMANCER PLAGUE WARDS AND TREANT TREES VERSUS TECHIES MINES

THE FATTEST PUDGE IN THE WORLD

RAT DOTA THAT DIDN'T INVOLVE NATURE'S PROPHET

RAPIER JUGGLING OF THE CENTURY

Jesus fucking christ I am done with Dota 2 for a while.

The highlight was Treant Protector screaming at Tiny to STOP STOP STOOOOOOP right before he casually stepped into a stack of Techies mines.

So, someone complains, yet again, that Phantom Lancer is OP. I list several heroes that, according to Dotabuff, PL plays poorly against. Sven being a good example (PL has a 43% winrate this month versus him). The other guy said "nuh-uh"... because he goes OOM too quickly due to the Diffusal Blade.

I once played Legion Commander because I thought she would be good against Phantom Lancer, due to her Q. That seemed to be the case, but it's a shame that LC doesn't appear to be doing too well since 6.82. They need to lower her cooldowns and mana costs a bit.

It sounds as pointless (or at least a waste of 2250 gold that could've gone elsewhere) as giving Queen of Pain a Blink Dagger.

The idea is that you can Blink in, which is harder to react to, and still have Timewalk to get out. Eternal Envy of Cloud 9 is really the only pro player who does it.

EE buys Blink on everything. Most of the time, he makes it work.

Blink Clinkz was quite spectacular to watch.

Today I've been trying to learn how to play Leshrac. So far, I can say that he's similar to Pugna, except a lot harder. He's really item dependant, and despite all of his skills dealing damage to multiple targets I don't seem to get gold fast enough. Right now, my build for him is Bottle, Arcane Boots, Veil of Discord, Bloodstone and Aghanim. I try to get Bottle and Arcane Boots before everything else, to give him enough mana to cast his spells, but afterwards I'm not sure what item I should make for him, because he dies pretty easily.

I've heard Bloodstone actually isn't a good item on him.
