Dota 2

I haven't been following it too closely. I'm at work for something like 2/3 of the matches and though I can sometimes get audio on my phone, it's hard to tell what's going on from that alone. Well, aside from EG getting ROF Lstomped by Wings, anyway... The announcers were sure to spell that one out in no uncertain terms. :/

Well... I personally liked the previous winner, but okay.

I think Lanaya is kind of a fan favorite amongst short film juries

We are fast approaching the end of an era: the last Dota All-stars hero will arrive. It will truly be an exiting day.

Sorry, I've never been terribly interested in competitive matches. Not for any game.

It's more that it was a ROFLstomp that I have an issue with. In fact, games that aren't close and intense bore the crap out of me. Had the winner and loser been reversed, I'd still be disappointed.

On that note, Purge (and Shane and Sheever) shutting down the woo-ers hard was one of the best things I've seen so far, right up there with the muppet panel. Purge's total deadpan delivery just sells it so much; that guy can probably make a poker face cry.

The buildup to the Monkey King reveal was absolutely amazing by the way! It made me anxious at the very least.

So... uh... what hero type is he gonna be?

Also it makes me think that he's voiced by Matthew Mercer

No details on that yet, but I am guessing agility.

Actually, no. I found out these things.

Wukong used to be a Bonus Boss in the original Dota. He's an Agility Hero, to unleash him, you need to do some Fetch Quest using Riki. So he's not the first original hero... but his presence truly completes the roster (Underlord alone just completes the 'playable' roster)

... So he's still gonna be Sun Wukong, right? Just like Zeus?

EDIT: Character pages get too long. I am going to separate things to 2 pages each, alphabetically, still without the Radiant/Dire.

Technically, Monkey King wasn't a hero in the original Dota, just a boss. Dota 2 is his debut.

The teaser indicates that his screen name will be Monkey King. He will probably keep his real name though, similar to most of the heroes who's referred to as their title.

Except we're talking about heroes, and Monkey King was never one in the original; he was teased, but Ice Frog never got around to releasing him. We were shown nothing of what he could have possibly been in the original game, other than name.

Yes, gameplay-wise this is gonna be his debut. But he's not a completely new addition to the Dota Allstars stuff. I guess we can say his case was Promoted to Playable

Blitz's comment about owning a DC shirt was spot-on, that's for sure. Most people thought DC wasn't going to amount to anything when SUNSfan first announced the team, and though it took a complete reshuffle of members save for Resolut1on, it's ridiculous how good they've developed as a team, as well as MiSeRy as a Captain and drafter; that Game 2 Jakiro pick was clutch, I just don't think they played aggressively enough to take advantage of their draft.
