im a bit confused with Akiho's disorder. five minutes feels like one second, so down that mean her perception of time slows down or speeds u, and can that even happen to someone?
I don't think a medical professional would ever describe it like that. Maybe that's what it feels like to Akiho and how she describes it?*
It seemed plausible enough to me that it was a regular epileptic seizure. I'm not a doctor, but I do know that Fits come in all kinds of variations, some you can barely even notice, some involving spasms. The point is that they involve some kind of alteration to your regular consciousness, usually just making the person black out.
I think that Elephant Mouse Syndrome is a real name for an anxiety attack of sorts.
The first result on Google isn't about the anime.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. But the first search on Wikipedia is.
Let's remember what we're dealing with. Both Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate were stories where the MC fundamentally had a different perception of reality than the other characters. It wasn't simply a mental condition, but rather a metaphysical significance.
So, even if Elephant Mouse Syndrome is a RL thing, it's likely that her particular case of it is not actually EMS.
Perhaps, but she isn't the main character, and I had thought the Augmented Reality stuff was the equivalent different perception in this instance.
So while I don't completely refute your theory the fact that we don't see it from her perspective is significant.

Well, isn't she the MC? I mean, Kill Ballad guy pretends to be, but everything that's going on surrounds her, not him.
But, it is true we don't get to see it from her perspective, which I guess is what you mean. Hmm...
comparisons to Haruhi in 3... 2... 1...
There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time.Umm... doesn't the syndrome just make her miss out on time? 5 minutes pass, but she only experiences one second and sees everything in fast forward? Which... basically just means she's blacking out with only confused memories of what happened when she was gone. She isn't seeing anything other people aren't, she's seeing less than other people. Even if they somehow make this metaphysical rather than mental, it can only be a disadvantage except possibly in some weird contrived circumstance where it might let her see past the trees to the forest, ie: identify some long-term pattern that other people wouldn't notice. It's hardly a "special power" or even particularly interesting medically. She just blacks out.
As far as I know, Elephant Mouse syndrome is not a real thing. It's just a weird disorder that makes you see things in fast-forward. It might come in handy later on for plot reasons but I doubt it as of now.
Hmmmm... for some reason, I thought RN had a dimensional distortion "theme" but looking over the wikipedia page, it looks like it really is just "what would happen if you tried to build a giant robot."
Okay, so, it looks like the syndrome is shared in reverse by Kaito. While Akiho experiences time super quickly-which is basically the same as being in a coma I guess?-Kaito experiences it super slowly. Which, I suppose, would explain how he can "cheat" at Kill Ballad. This syndrome will probably come during the robot fight, where he'll have some narrative about how he has the reverse, and they'll maybe have a slow-mo robot battle to demonstrate how Kaito sees the world when it happens. Maybe.

FINALLY! I'm actually (very) interested!
Episode 3 is (for me) the most interesting episode so far. I even got into a (crack) ship. (Hopefully, it won't stay a crack ship.)
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. So, I was wrong. The condition didn't help him win the match. It helped him to lose the match dramatically. Go figure. Although technically I didn't even predict that it'd let him win, just that it would show up in the robot fight, and we'd get an animated sequence about it-so, I was 100% right on that at least. It was pretty spiffy. Wish the VN was translated.

Episode 3: Really nice. The Robo One was an adorable midpoint between mundane and Serious Business. The moment Galactic Pretty Boy Mr. Pleiades appeared I knew how the match and the deal with the robot club will turn out, but it was damn entertaining. Always fun to see the stoic ones crack.
Next stop, JAXA! Looking forward to that especially now that another show has given me really good impressions about it.
Other things of note: Fraukojuro shows up in the flesh, and we get our first hints of a possible mysterious organization which is probably up to no good. And Aki's sister is a member. I'd also like to learn about Aki and Yashio's disorders; seems linked to a trauma of some sort.
It's not CERN this time around, I think, but whatever it is that's behind the red aurora.
Well, CERN was just one of the agents of the Council of I forget the number.
Though, it's unclear just how related the plots of the V Ns are to one another. They share a verse, obviously, but I don't know more than that.
So I'm watching episode 3, and it's funny but for some reason I can't watch the Robot Battles, Ro-Battles if you will, without this theme playing in the background
Seeing the most-quoted line from Invictus rendered in Engrish in the OP and ED is a little disconcerting.
Yeah, I'm liking the pace of this show better now.
Still, a bunch of future hooks that are meaningless to me now still don't endear the show much to me.
Fourth episode. I accidentally thought this: What if Nishijou Takumi is a developer of local Augmented Reality system? It would be even better, if it turns out to be him doing it with help of ir2-formula. Thus, it could somewhat explain how Airi knows "Sono me dare no me"-phrase. I mean, she clearly have something to do with Augmented Reality. I think that she is a program or something with AI, which exists only in augmented reality. If Nishijou Takumi is a developer of it he may be as well developer of Airi.
They Call Me Tomu, speaking about relation of Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate they share a verse and that's actually all. Except thousands of references, there is no actual relation between them. Although there was pretty big ones references. For example, Kurisu explained Time-Leap-Machine concept to Okabe using NOZOMI papers from Chaos;Head. I don't know about relation of Robotics;Notes to the others, though. It seems it will be much more related.

Yeah, I believe Daru eventually makes a cameo, though I'd have to check the wiki.
Finished watching today's episode. I was like "ushaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Totally badass out of nowhere ending. 5/5!
That's not all. The date of Mass Fainting suspiciously matches with the date of Real-Life launch of JAXA's first QZSS satellite - Michibiki. (It's all in the other wiki). I doubt that it's a coincidence. And about Daru Yep, he will appear in R;N. Not in person, though, just through the internet. Someone spoiled me this.

I forget what the RL tie in with Chaos;Head was, if there was one. I know that Steins;Gate used John Titor as its RL tie in. Good to know that's Robotics;Notes' tie in. Also, Daru only exists through the net? LAME joukou.
So the mass fainting is probably part of some conspiracy?
At least we can put together some more pieces that we've been given though.
But personally I'm not looking forward to another tournament.
Episode 2: Yashio does some nice things, but I still dislike him. Thank god he now has something else to channel his Kill Ballad Obsession too. Akiho's okay by comparison. Actually, I rather like her. At least she has drive.
Grapefruit meat buns actually sound tasty. It's an interesting way to ask for info too.
Elephant Mouse syndrome. Silly name for a weird disorder.
Some screentime for the future club members.
And now FRAUKOJURO(?) enters the plot again. I'm not sure how they're gonna reel her in...
Story's moving slowly~
