How do you know that there is an original?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm not saying it was definitely uploaded by the artist, but it has to originate from somewhere. I highly doubt that a gag site was the first to publish it. These sites just re-hype and regurgitate each others' posts all the time, and the first one usually just finds it somewhere else, they're never the actual origin.
Anyway, I just found the source: it's a design by artist Cnatch. The version of the image that was posted here is a tee design on Threadless by the same artist, which then got posted and pinned all around. I'll try to contact them.
(btw, my earlier post seems to have been off. It looks like the pic was published this year, I don't know why google dated that pin 2006 then. Sorry!)

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Platypus and panda bear are both great. They're parodying the DBZ example but (unlike DBZ) the end result is visually obvious.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Pandas for the win.
I guess we're just waiting for bananasloth to hear back from Cnatch?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableUnfortunately I could only contact him through facebook which isn't ideal, but he was last active on Oct 5 so he should probably get back to me soon.
please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.If possible I prefer platypus or panda to DBZ, since in the latter the two fusing characters already look identical except for their clothes.
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.I'd say the animals or the actual Dragon Ball one. Infringement Man(?) looks more like Wolverine couldn't get a complete costume one day, and had to slap together various unmatching parts.
somethingCrowner?
Old thread, so yes.
Check out my fanfiction!Bump for votes.
I see the bear image is in the lead, but I'm afraid we still don't have permission for it. Since my last post here, I also tried to contact the artist through his flickr, but no reply. :(
please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Let's give it another week, and if he/she still hasn't gotten back to us, then I think we're going to have to assume it's not available.
In which case platypus wins?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Still no word from the artist?
Nope, nothing. :/
please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.With no news from the artist of the bear pic, we're gonna have to exclude it. Thus, the platypus pic wins. It's up and tagged; locking up.

Nominations for replacement images:
that's not the original source. I meant finding either the artist or at least the site where the picture was first uploaded.
This pin predates that post by six years, but still isn't the original.edited 13th Oct '12 11:03:48 AM by bananasloth
