It was kind of cheesy and silly back then, too. I remember reading an article by the main actress back in the day when Sierra sent me their magazine. There were some interesting bits of trivia such as that the pants she wears in the game were a set she owned and wore into the audition which the director took a shine to. By the end of the filming, they were apparently held together by gaffing tape.

Oh yeah! I heard about that. I don't know about you, but I remember when Full Motion Video was a big deal back in the day. Too bad it got hit by Seinfeld Is Unfunny very hard! If they didn't use FMV, maybe they wouldn't have had Limited Wardrobe occurring in the game.
Personally, I think the game should have had Multiple Endings. Okay, so Adrienne had to kill her hubby Don, and then get to the chamber to seal away that naga-like demon. There should have been an ending where Adrienne gets to the chamber and seals away the demon without having to kill her husband.

Phantasmagoria (Boy, that's a tough word to spell!). Some say that this is one of the goriest games you'll ever find. Your Mileage May Vary on whether or not that's true.
Sure, when it first came out, it must have been effective with the scares, and going into topics like murder and rape. Of course, it would probably come off as cheesy and silly nowadays!
